In contrast to the narrow terraces of the canyon road this location is wide open and has loads of space for tent campers, bikers and 4x4s. There is a rocky road that leads up here just after Pinchollo. The path continues into the mountains but around 3k in has been totally destroyed, you could only continue by foot.

This place would still work for camping and any vehicle can access it. The roads must have been changed a bit since the last checkin as there is a very large flat area to pull into off the road to the geyser in this location. We did not stay here, but seems like it would work fine.
Report Check-InCrossing now with 4wd doable. You can drive up to the Geysir and camp. It can be very cold. We had snow during the night.
Report Check-InAfter about 5 km you come to a river crossing that is not doable at this moment even with a 4x4 because the step to enter and get out from the river is to big.

The path continues into the mountains, presumably until the geyser but around 3k in has been totally destroyed, you could only continue by foot and this would no doubt make a spectacular hike.
