Report Check-In

Toll booth had normal service today. The only problem was that we were charged as a bus (150 pesos) even after we show the receipt from the previous toll that charged us as a two-axle truck (127 pesos). The guy said it was because of the windows. No bandits.

Report Check-In

Today there were a group of bandits there of 10-15 guys smoking joints and seemed drunk. They said we had to pay to enter the toll road and asked for 100 mxn and then 200 mxn afterwards. I just played dumb and talked english to them. After the leader said “gringo” to the others and took my 100 mxn he told them to raise the boom and let me through.
There were plenty police officers around the corner, but it seems they just let them run this booth whenever they want. Maybe they are scared of them. The locals say they take over the booth whenever they want money and there is nothing they can do about it.

Report Check-In

Everything clear today 17/5!
Normal toll $36mxc

7:00am, Friday, still bandits here, with balaclavas and big axes in hands. The sign said 80, when they saw us they asked 300! We were joking and bargaining for a bit and gave them 100 and a hand shake. Interesting!

Report Check-In

No problem here, place is guarded by police and criminal investigation team. We slept here no problem, just a bit noisy.

Report Check-In

Friday noon banditos were there. We read your comments and we prepared 72 pesos in advance. We gave it to them without really stoping the van, no hesitation and self-confidence! Everything was ok.

Report Check-In

We passed the fee station on a Friday at 03:00pm and had no problems. Because of other iOverlanders, we knew it could be a problem so we had the money ready (exactly 72pesos), gave it to the friendly man there and he let us pass.

They tried to get more money out of us but we gave them the 72 and they let us go.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

This toll seems to be managed by banditos during the weekend. They were agressive to us, smelling alcool and armed with machetes. They asked us twice the price for the toll. We refused to pay and ran the road block. The guy lift the barrier just on time and we leave. Cops were just 300 hundred meters after. Very strange...

Report Check-In

Still abandoned and I guess the men should be called “banditos.” They asked us for 100 pesos and my husband responded the sign said 72 and the man replied okay give me 72. There were 5-6 other men with him. One wearing a mask but no aggression or threats. We paid 72 pesos and kept going. As we pulled away there is a federal cop parked right there.... not sure what his purpose is?

Report Check-In

We passed this toll at 1pm heading south. Normal toll. No issues. We paid 77 pesos for our 4x4. Strong federal police presence.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

We travelled through here on 09 Jan 2018. No problems. The toll booths were operating with the usual friendly operators. Police cars nearby. Lots of traffic. Be sure to fill up before tackling this long cuota road as there are no Pemex stations for long stretches.

Report Check-In

Abandoned toll booth manned by bandits. They wanted 4 times the amount posted. They tried intimidated us with machetes and tasers. We refused to pay anything but the posted price of 33 pesos for a motorcycle. Eventually they let us pass. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not but someone through a rock at us from a cliff about 4 kms later...(we are on a motorcycle)
