Something not right?

Description

Really nice area on the south bank of the river by the bridge. This is not you typical "under the bridge" type spot, this is actually quite a beautiful area with several spots to choose from and you can drive further away from the bridge to loose any road noise.

We drove to the far end and camped in the open. There are lots of options under shade as well. Look out for the Otter in the river. Do not camp right at the water there is a tide here. Access road at the south end of bridge.

Was a great spot to overnight. A few locals and boaters came through but overall very peaceful. Some locals came to hangout and left a lot of trash, but overall the space was fairly clean. A couple of horses were running around which gave it a nice vibe.

Indeed really nice spots. Be careful when you enter the riverbank Southwards the plain and the road fills with water during springtide.

The owner was at the gate and asked us 5000 CLP (for the vehicle) to enter this place as it’s a private land. Not sure if it’s new or if they only charge in high season. There is a sign at the entrance (privado).

Found a really nice grassy spot at people described but the horse flies! They like blue, I was told, and it’s true. Will see if they get better as sun goes down. Peaceful place otherwise.

A beautiful wildcampspot near the river. You can park your car or tent in the shadow.
Alot of spots. No wifi ( just 4g), no abulution blocks nothing. Just you and the nature.

Enjoy!

many sites, which is good, because we spent the day bathing in the sun in one of the meadows in this spot, which was totally shielded from the winds, went out for a pizza (highly recommend Pablo who runs SiempreVerde round the corner, has a wood fired pizza oven, and does incredible kayaking trips)in the evening, and when we came back later in the night, our spots were taken, but easy to find a new one here :)

Lovely riverside spot. We didn’t want to risk going to the end with our small car due to large rocks and potholes, but we still had the first main grassy spot all to ourselves. Coming from the north it’s a sharp right after the bridge.

Super spot! Drive to ‘the end’ of the road. No people around!

Stayed 2nights. Very nice. Just surpised that river rose around 12am about 1m. Way back was flooded for around 2h....(it was a sunny day)

quiet place.
we stopped to have a cup of tea/coffee and some lunch.
would be a great place for camping

Really nice area, lots of fishermen and families, but astonishing quiet and peaceful during the night (Saturday). Bathing, fishing and soaking in the summer sunshine. Drive to the end of the road to be out of sight and sheltered by trees.

nice place! we drove all to the end, we were there alone. nice and quiet :-)

A really marvellous spot. We found a large group of Chilean fishermen in the first area, but you can explore much further down the track through the trees to find a quiet spot. Lots of sheltered spaces and fire pits, otherwise no facilities. Free.

King salmon running up river in February. You can see them jumping and lots of fisherman trying their luck including us.

Report Check-In

Very good spot, the water is so beautiful! Lots of flat places on grass to camp or to park. I dont think you can drink the water because it is going up and down with the sea. Lots of local fishermen but it is still quiet. Very nice place

Perfect spot to wait out the rain before returning to La Junta for hiking. Fire pits and opportunities to shelter from the wind if necessary. Super quiet. We went as far as we could along the rocky little road and were not disturbed for the three days we were there.

I am sooo glad the campgrounds around here were closed, becuase this place turned out to be the perfect spot for a Thanksgiving cookout and camping spot! Cheers to finding really cool boondocking spots like this.
