Something not right?

Description

Great little hostel on the water. Nice and quiet, away from the wind, really good food, kayaks, and a great dock for sunsets. $5 for parking on their even parking lot. They are also located next to one of the more adventurous trailheads for Volcan Madres (tough 7ish hour hike).

Still 10 usd per night / van. Very good place!

We were welcomed by a nice local family. We paid $5/person per day. The view on the lake is beautiful and the wifi is good. There is a small restaurant area that you can use to cook. It wasn’t open when we were there. The birds here are lovely and you can hear the howler monkeys in the distance. This is a spectacular place to see the sunset.

Lovely welcoming family. Asked for $5 per night and let us hook up so we could park in the shade. They also gave us a room key for private showers and toilets. Decent WiFi. Restaurant not open at the moment but you can use the kitchen yourself. Very good for the price. We biked from here to hike the San Ramon waterfall too.

Very relaxing place to hang out for a while… super friendly owners, unfortunately since the 2018 events and the pandemic they are not seeing too many tourists. They have some very nice rooms and of course the option to camp. Restaurant is currently closed but there is one just a short walk away. At time of writing price was C100 per night to camp (2pax) we used one of their rooms for shower / store some gear while doing day trips.
Highly recommend

came for the restaurant only: wow, what an amazing meal. we weren't too hungry and decided to share and that was an excellent choice because portions were massive and delicious. the best 200 cord spent. definitely get some Coco helado to share. this is a really great place doing good for the community.

Came here to rent kayaks. Paid $5pp for the monkey island, very nice trip! Enjoyed the facilities during the day but did not pay for camping (stayed at Caballito de Mar for free). Wi fi password: haciendamerida. Worth visiting for kayaks although Ojo de Agua is better!

Prior descriptions still accurate. Including bumpy access road. Able to swim right at parking place. Run electric. Fill water tanks. Nice showers and toilets. Nice people.

what a genuinely good place. The owner is doing a lot of work for the community. He pays people who don't have an income to collect plastic waste and stuff it into bottles. out of these he has build a bilingual school! Everything is donation funded, so there's a good reason to come here and talk to him about it, help is always welcome, he speaks perfect English. The hostel is beautiful, camping is on parking lot. Cost 10$ + tax, but it's really worthed to check this place out and see how you can help.

Report Check-In

Camped in the parking lot, 5$ per car.
Infrastructures (wifi, showers, bathrooms, pier, etc.) are pretty good.
We rented kayaks to go to see the monkeys island, we were charged 5$ per person. It was worth it.

This place is ok. It’s quiet en directly on the lake but this makes it also mosquito paradise. Loads of fireflies at night, quite magical.
The mosquitoes drove me insane though. They even dive into your food.
Maybe it’s not as worse if you stay in a cabin, but camping on the parking lot was a nightmare. Luckily during the day they weren’t there.
The place self looks good, loads of hammocks and places to sit.
Restaurant is so so and pricy. WiFi is average and doesn’t reach the parking lot. Code is the same as the place it’s name, but without any capitals.

Staff speaks good English but the boy at the reception is not assertive at all. Had to drag every obvious question out of him.
If you arrive in the afternoon from the ferry I wouldn’t consider going here if it’s just for one night.
Payed $5 for camping on parking lot.

Nice place to stay in Ometepe. The last 5km to the Hacienda are not in good condition. Narrow entrance to the leveled parking spot. We arrenged a kayak tour with them for 35$, highly recommended. Nice toilets, showers, wifi and chill out area. You should definetly try the frozen coconut + banana milkshake drink.

There were lovely breezes off the lake at night to cool us down, and they also had a super long extension cord for us to get power (just had to ask at the desk). The hostel itself was wonderful - so many hammocks, and great showers! We were sad we could only stay two nights.

Camping in parking lot next to hostel on the lake. Good restaurant on site. It's also a school for children at 9am weekdays. Wifi in restaurant, clean restrooms and showers, kayaks available to rent. ($5pp)

allows camping but i opted for a room ($25). nice staff. good chicken sandwich. ok prices.

Report Check-In

Internet broken. Ran out of chicken in the restaurant for two days. But it's clean, quiet and cheap.

Cost: 4USD per tent per night
The internet was weak at times and I had to use my USB stick.
This is a beautiful place to stay on the west side of Ometepe Island, which is good for how much wind you receive. We tent camped on the dock. The restaurant is very good value and tasty. This location was bitter sweet for us because this is where Ducati had his accident and died.

$4.60 usd per person. Large flat lot at this hostel. Friendly owners, good base for the Madras volcano hike.
