Description

Bosques de Chapultepec has several parking lots, some of the cheapest you'll find in Mexico city (160p a night since 17.02.2019)

There are many parking lots around the Bosques, some have 24h security and some don't. I marked the GPS coordinates on one of the bigger ones which has security and is suitable for larger vehicles (some large RVs were parked here).

We talked to the security guard and they had no problem with us sleeping here. There are bathroom for 5pesos. The Bosque has some tables in other areas where I guess you can cook.

The Bosques are safe and walking in the neighborhoods north and east from here are also safe (and quite nice)

City wifi is open and available in the parking lot and many places in the city.

Latest Check-Ins

This parking lot has been cancelled and replaced by a new museum, not opened yet when we were here.
With a vehicle bigger than a simple car, the only parking lot available now to sleep in the park of Chapultepec is the E5, 900m after the Papalote Museo del Niño.
200 pesos by day (0am to 12pm)

Report Check-In

We stayed 4 nights here. Safe in a fenced area and walking distance from the metro. There are several fenced parking locations and the supervisor directed us to lot 5 which was bigger. We had some issues when leaving. There was a confusion with the gate attendant and supervisor, no matter what the gate attendant says you pay per day so if you leave in the morning you need to pay for a full day of parking. It was annoying to have to pay an extra $200 went we left after already paying $800 for the four days. But the gate attendant was nice about it and it seemed out of his hands.

Report Check-In

Fenced, attended parking lot that can accommodate RVs.
24 hr. costs 200 pesos. Clean restroom availble for 30 pesos. Some city bus activity/parking nearby. This is a great service in a relatively quiet park in towards the city center. Metro subway is 20 minutes walking. (Some previous posts gave a parking lot that is currently full of construction).

Report Check-In

We were told we could not stay! Basically a construction site

Report Check-In

Great spot to park the van. Currently under construction as of December 27th 2021 and likely for months to come, but still worth it. The 34-A bus stop is nearby, but runs very erratically. We prefer to walk to the metro/subway at Constituyentes, plus it is only 5 pesos per person. We also walk across the walking bridge to the Oxxo to get large water jugs to refill ours. Great torta place next to the Oxxo too!

Report Check-In

this is the worst place to stay, they charge you for everything, bad experience, ugly people.

Report Check-In

The price is now 160 pesos per night, instead of the original 80. They updated the price sign at the entrance, so it is official.

Still a great place to stay. Bathrooms, 24 hour security, central location.

Report Check-In

They changed the price.
Now it's douple - 160 pesos!!! per day
So it's 320 pesos per night!!!
It was safe and quiet, but now it's a little bit expensive - just for a sandy parking lot. Washrooms(5pesos) closed around 8 in the evening.

Report Check-In

update 16.02.2019

the new price from tmr is 160peso per day for campers

Report Check-In

As described. Quiet, safe, we stayed several days. We took the bike path to the "Torre Virreyes" (dedicated bike path), left bikes there (dedicated uniformed watchman for the bike park, even at 9pm on a saturday evening) and used the very efficient and nice Metrobus from Campo Martes to the center.
Price for parking of vans/campers increase to 160 mxp/day on feb. 17, 2020.

Report Check-In

Nice big parking lot on the west side of the city. 80 pesos per day for our van. 15 min walk to a great indoor market with lots of fresh produce and meat. Also very delicious and cheap places to eat inside. Good location to park and explore the western suburbs by foot. We have a dog so we didn’t take public transportation to get into the centre.
It’s surrounded by a beautiful park. Felt safe. Stayed for 2 nights.

Report Check-In

As described a very safe and beautiful place to stay when visiting México City. We stayed here for 6 nights, felt very safe. 80 pesos for 24 hours.

Report Check-In

Great spot really close from the center of the city, and the cool barrios like Condesa and Roma. Its the best alternative to park and visit the city.
We arrived on a sunday afternoon and the parking was really busy, you have to ask a guy to get the special ticket for rv, van ... because its a special price : $80 instead of 40 per day. Do not hesitate to insist to get the ticket..
The night was calm and silent

Report Check-In

Great place as everybody say. Nice and quite . Spent here a few nights. 80 pesos per day.

Report Check-In

Great spot but hard to get to for us in traffic. Both google maps and maps.me seemed to struggle with the roads in Mexico City. Really tranquil, felt safe. As noted above, you pay for the bathroom but they’re clean. One note, there was literally a pack of wild dogs in the parking lot at night- they didn’t bother us but jumped on the hood of the Jeep near us

Report Check-In

We stayed for a week and we're more than surprised: for a 20 Mill. inhabitants world Metropole a great place. It's green (perfect with a dog), quiet day and night...only weekends get a bit busy but never loud and again quiet at night. About 100 Pesos with taxi or cheap Metrobus near the Auditorio to Zócalo..also the Turibus (Hop on Hop off) from Auditorio possible (great Service with 4 lines and 2 days option...so you can take the last ride back to Chapultepec). Toiletts with Slot machines but closed from about 20.00 on. During the night the guards do patrols on motos or Minibuses. We really felt very save and compared to Rio and Buenos Aires an idyllic city parking. You even get the CDMX free WIFI here in the whole park and the signal is good at some places in the parking here, too. Regarding "Hoy no circula" we did the same: drove on Sunday. You do not get a tourist permission on their website when your car is older than from year 2004. Hotlines were not answered to ask for alternatives. Sunday is perfect to get used to the traffic in this city anyway ,-)

Report Check-In

Best place to visit Mexico City!!
80MXP/ camper (no matter the size) per day.
Very safe.
5MXP/ restrooms (open 24h).
Near to metro station (5MXP/ride).

Report Check-In

Really great spot to stay. Felt very safe and it is the cheapest option in Mexico City. 160p for the night (you have to pay 80p the day you arrive and the day you leave) We have stayed here two nights and both mornings had the same issue trying to leave. When you arrive you get a ticket out of the machine to open the gate. Later on someone will stop by and take your ticket and they should give you a different paper receipt. We never received the new receipt so it was hard for the security in the morning to figure out how much we owed. Please make sure they give you the new receipt! I added a photo of what it looks like

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Excellent spot if you are self sufficient in your camper. We stayed 2 weeks and really liked it here. Very convenient for the city and peaceful at night. 80pesos per DAY (not per night, so you pay for the day you arrive AND for the day you leave). Toilets are not 24hrs, they are locked at night after dusk. There is no physical security (ie no fence) and we saw no staff around after dark. Maybe they do patrols? But it's a safe area of town and we had no problems. There are other carparks in the Bosque, but this is the only one where you are allowed to stay in your vehicle. No height barriers, lots of space for any sized rig. To avoid any hassles with the 'Hoy no circula' we drove in and out on a Sunday.

Report Check-In

Great location, felt super safe. The guard Enrique is super sweet and will let you fill your jugs with the spout for a few side pesos (and his pit toilet). There are also 24 hour bathrooms for 5 pesos that were clean. He did say to be careful on the other side of the fence at night, didn’t experience any issues. Very close to buses, sights, etc. and Uber is very affordable too!

Ps if you get stopped by the cops entering Mexico City about a tourist pass it’s only from 5am to 11am. Do not let them scare you into paying 6000 pesos- the most you should ever pay off is 200 pesos!

Report Check-In

As described. The best place for CDMX. Short distance to the metro and rather quiet. We could get water there.

Report Check-In

Great spot ! Very easy to access to all kind of rigs. Just be careful, truck and RV cannot drive on « peripherico », remain on the right roads to get there. Rather quiet for a city spot, next to Chapultepec gardens, museum, and playground for kids. Bus, metro next to it. Had excellent time over there, 24h security. Probably one of our best spot in the city across North America. You can set up the whole camp on the grass, it’s just next to a small lake and a restaurant.

Report Check-In

Lugar perfecto. Dejamos la camioneta allí y nos manejamos en metro que es muy económico. Super recomendable!!! Como estrategia nos fuimos un día domingo para evitar el tránsito

Report Check-In

Very good parking, you can sleep there or not (same price). $40 for cars, $80 for minibuses or small RVs (our’s is 6 meters long and we paid this amount) and $160 for big RVs. We also saw some RVs which are left there for very long time. Very friendly people and safe. Excellent parking to visit mexico city for a few days. Very easy access, you just need to take the Anillo Periferico (no toll on this). Also check the day you cannot enter the city depending on your plate + Saturdays (the rest of the days are fine after 11am).

Report Check-In

awesome spot. you pay 40 pesos per day for ever space you take up. for me, that's 5 spaces for a 32' travel trailer and a space for the truck. so 240 pesos per day
no connections. but it's a safe parking lot in a beautiful park. easy access to a lot of locations.

Report Check-In

For you guys who are not sure about going to CDMX with your camper, we highly recommend this place! Best place to park your RV to visit CDMX. We stayed 4 nights and it was perfect. Safe, cheap (80 pesos for 25’ Camper/night). Really worth it.

Report Check-In

We stayed at this parking lot for 5 nights. We payed 120M$ per day (we have a pickup with a camper on the bed and had to pay 3 spaces á 40M$ per day. If you get in just go to the small building on he right. The guys were friendly, took the money and let us out without a ticket.

Report Check-In

This is amazing parking for the middle of the city! We have been 3 nights now with no issues and even managed to move to. corner for a sneaky solar shower - with bathing suits on of course!

Metro is only a 10 - 15 minute walk (Constituyentes - snapshot of orange line included) - we also found an amazing market near the subway that is clean and fresh and we will go to all the rest of the week - tagged as 'other' Market near metro on iOverlander

For 8 days/7 nights we only spent 280 pesos - not bad for a prime location in Mexico City!

Report Check-In

As described, felt very safe and easy to take an Uber into La Condesa and other beautiful nearby neighborhoods. 40 pesos/night, 5 peso clean bathrooms. No showers.

Report Check-In

We stay two week here, parked under a tree. There is an option of subway (Estación Constituyentes) 15' walking from here (MXN 5 one way). To the Zocalo the round dure 40'. Includes photos.

Report Check-In

Safe parking 24/24. Perfect base for visit of Mexico. The only bad point is that You have to drive(pilot) in Mexico city... Prefer drive late in the day or on week-ends. We have to pay 160 pesos/24h for a 33’’ rv.

Report Check-In

We stayed here a complete week. Felt very save, the guards were very nice and helpful. We could also fill up the watertanks by the small house where the guards have their stuff. 40 Pesos a night. Great place to stay in a city like this.

Report Check-In

As described, a very safe and cheap place to park. We slept here for 2 nights, it cost us 80 peso with 24 hour security guards on watch. Baño's we're close for 5 pesos. We walked into the city centre from here (a very long walk) because we have our dog with us however you can hop into an uber for around 140 pesos (to take you to the historical centre) give or take traffic/time of day. We were also able to walk to the anthropology museum (35 min). La Condesa is a nice neighbourhood within walking distance (30 min) with lots of cafes/ restaurants and a beautiful park to walk through.

Report Check-In

we are using a 24 feet camper, asked pricing at our arrival, the guard told us 80 pesos per day, told us to find a spot in the back of the parking.
had a good shaded spot under a tree one of few in this parking.
spent 15 days there, at noon this morning wanted to go, confirmed price of 80 pesos per day with a manager, a bit later another manager came and requested that we pay 120 pesos per day instead because our vehicle is the size (in length) of 3 parking spaces (measured width)
I said no and he kept us there for 2 hours, talking on the phone with another manager
we were able to go out and pay 1200 pesos as expected, but bad experience.
