Something not right?

Description

Large area for camping and day visits. Large rigs over 3.4m high can only get in on the side of the road opposite the beach area. Lots of picnic tables and fire areas. Bit of rubbish around although bins available. Free. Plane noise from the adjacent airport largely depends on the wind direction: hardly any with northerly winds, fairly loud jet noise with southeasterly winds. Loads of good camping sites.

Großes Gelände, viele Möglichkeiten zu übernachten. Viel Müll, viele Glasscherben. Etliche Chilenen mit Zelten, feiern bis in die Morgenstunden.

Report Check-In

Very spacious area, sufficient wind protection. Noise from the airport.
But beware this is also a party zone. We had to suffer loud music all night until about 6am.

Report Check-In

This campground is full of litter, but it’s sufficient for a night. Wind protection seemed decent.

the park extends from the sea to beyond the road over a very large area. there are plenty of small shelters with barbecues, all surrounded by small trees. there is a lot of waste but it is still a good spot. even if the airport is not far we spent a quiet night. there are bars at the entrance that prevent access to high vehicles, but some are broken and still allow high vehicles to enter.

Not bad, some trash around and toilet paper tulips but certainly not the worst we've seen in Chile. Some parties happening when we arrived in the evening but they didn't stay the night. Quiet and we felt safe.

This is a sort of a picknick area with some deignated camping spots in a small park. There are lots of BBQs and shelters. We stayed at the west side where you didn't see or hear the street. The airport is closeby, but we almost didn't hear it too. The only drawback is that daytime visitors leave a lot of trash. But it was perfect to sleep for a night in.our little rwnted camper, and have breakfast without wimd in one of the shelters.

Simple park with permitted camping. Kind of community camping. A lot of garbge around.

Report Check-In

Quite good spot where you can relax and chill with firepits if there is a good weather.
There is little garbage spread all around but you can manage to find a clean place.
It was quiet even on friday night, no loud music and planes stopped at 9-10pm.

we thought this was by far the best place to stay the night in Punta Arenas. it's close to the city, there is plenty of space around, no noise of the road and you can even light an asado :) we spend two nights here.

Report Check-In

We were forced to stay in the area because of mechanical problems, however we came to this park and felt really comfortable here after we had collected some rubbish. It's really a nice place on both sides of the road. However the sea side is more noises because of the road. After a while we found ample places where you can park with a big rig hight 3.6m on both sides of the road. We found three rubbish bins on the whole area. One on the beach, 2 on the road. Please use them, don't leave bags on the site as animals ceep tearing them open. The trees will also give you privacy and wind protection.

really dirty - lots of trash lying around. looks like people don‘t care at all, which is a pitty

Report Check-In

As described. Plenty of room and many sites to choose from. Fair bit of rubbish and even though it’s winter quite a few people around playing loud music. Covered tables quite convenient in the rain. Fairly protected from wind.

Slept here for 1 night with the campervan after a visit to Puerto Natales. Not to much rubbisch where we parked and quiet. Would stay here again.

very big place , a lot of rubbish, disgusting bathrooms, but is so big so you can find a place quiet clean .

Report Check-In

As described. full of sites. Rubbish everywhere, as usual... Some places with shelter and table. Useful when it rains. Quiet night. Road and plane traffic stops during the night.

It's great to be free to turn up at a camp spot at 02.30, leave the car doors open with the music at full blast and light a fire. If only they wouldn't do it right next to us! Fortunately they must have got cold by 4am as they got in the car and shut the doors, which muted the music somewhat. About 100 miles worth of empty camping spots and they have to stop next to us! Other than that a nice spot (except for the rubbish) and we were quite sheltered in our roof tent.

Report Check-In

great FREE wild camp with lots of cooking pits and bushes for separation between other campers. Toilet pits available and never seems to be busy. But airport and ruta 9 nearby, can be heard but not too disturbing. Quite windy so find a good sheltered area!

Report Check-In

Pit toilet on site. Unfortunately at about 10 PM some family camped right on top of us. There were tons of empty sites. Not one other camper in the Park. We left by midnight and parked in town. We have learned that there is NO considering others in either Chile or Argentina on "quiet hours". It is a mystery why they scream, honk horns, play loud music ALL night. Be sure to have a Plan B.

Report Check-In

we moved from here into town an back again two nights. its a big park and lots of space. bigger and higher RV's can stay in the park at the other site from the road where they removed the high barrier.

Wolfgang&Michaela:
Nice place to stay for one or two nights. A litle noisy from the road nearby. Realy a lot of garbage all around, but some pits are fairly clean

Report Check-In

Large area with lots of bbq places and covered seating, between small trees and bushes that gave a surprising amount of wind protection. There's a bit of rubbish laying around and we did hear airplanes but overall it was a good spot. Lots of space for the dog to run around and it's free.

Report Check-In

Plane noise from the adjacent airport largely depends on the wind direction: hardly any with northerly winds, fairly loud jet noise with southeasterly winds. Lots of shelter from the wind by trees and roofed shelters. Fireplaces and concrete tables/benches. Loads of good camping sites.

Big rigs have tu use a hole in a fence 200 m along the road and drive back on gras to the seaside area . If it's wet a 4weeldrive can be necessary.

The2Dutch. IT is saturday and different families spend weekend here and use the BBQ. No noise and Nice vieuw.

Free. Large area with fire areas and benches. Couldn't find any toilets. No planes at night so quiet.

Report Check-In

Large area for camping and day visits. Large rigs over 3.4m high can only get in on the side of the road opposite the beach area. Lots of picnic tables and fire areas. May be other facilities but did not explore whole area. Totally deserted when we were there mid week. Bit of rubbish around although bins available. Free.

Report Check-In

A large forest and coastal area north of Punta Arenas with dozens of sites. No facilities. Because of the airport right next door it can get loud, otherwise very quiet at night.
