Fabián lives up to his reputation - a really kind guy! However the current economical situation in Argentina has seriously affected the campground and he’s running it with few services - mainly just water (no electricity or wifi) but it does have solar heated water, bathrooms and showers. Camping is full of friendly, loving dogs that Fabián looks after and is situated close to a lovely river that we had a dip in during a hot day. Fabián took us for a short hike one morning. He let us use the kitchen (but unfortunately they were running low on gas). We bought food for the dogs to help out and tried giving him some cash but he refused. We wish we could have done more to help but don’t know how. It seems like they are going to sell the camping so make the most of it while you can and help Fabian out.

Lovely place to stay. The campsite wasn't open yet when we got there but Fabian let us stay anyway with no charge. He is such a lovely guy and takes care of a ton of strays (that are all very sweet). The place itself is really nice and right next to the river. 100% recommend.

Report Check-In

Fabian is an incredible good guy, so friendly and helpful.
Nice to be in this camping lot because no more allowed to park motorhome in the centre of the city, ioverlander are not welcome.

Report Check-In

Fabian is a legend! We decided to come here for the many reviews left on iOverlander and we were not disappointed. After braking down late in the night just outside his campsite, Fabian helped push our van into safety and spoke to a mechanic that evening to ensure a quick fix over the weekend! He fed us, looked after us and offered to clean our clothes. We were so grateful for his hospitality! Furthermore the price of this place is amazing, with a rustic feel to the campsite and lots of cute dogs around, we were very lucky to brake down here!

I really liked this place. Fabian was super friendly and went out of his way to make sure everything was as good as it could be. was upfront about the ioverlander deal mentioned. even provided everyone, not just us, with pastries every morning. for free! hot water all day long. free clothes washing machine (it's not hooked up to water so you have to fill it manually with a bucket, but hey, it's free!) no size restrictions. dog friendly and they have 12 dogs and 2 cats on site, all very nice, but not all of them are castrated. power at most of the sites. potable water. free use of the kitchen. overall a pretty nice place. for the price I'm not complaining about no latches on the bathroom stall doors (they have seats though) or not having wifi, especially when we have paid way more for less in other places. nice view of the mountain and if your not opposed to getting wet you can cross the shallow creek and be in downtown in like 5 minutes. I would definitely come back.

Epic spot!! The guy running it is the biggest legend, kept bringing us snacks. Let’s you use his kitchen and sometimes offers fruit, veg, tea coffee and pastries. Great bohemian vibe. Close to river and town.

Report Check-In

Ok for a few nights, but it smells a lot inside the Refugio due to the many animals and the services are basic and a bit run down(you get what you pay for ;) ).

Report Check-In

Good spot that has river access. Perfect for swims on these hot summer days! Owner was really friendly, couple of rescue dogs but they’re chill. 1000 pp for the first night then 500 for nights afterwards if you mention iOverlander. Electricity points scattered around, no wifi but full 4G Claro signal. Bathrooms are a little run down but there’s running water so can’t complain! Only 15-20 min walk to supermarket and main plaza with markets.

Report Check-In

Nice place for the price, we paid 1000 pesos per person, and if you prepay, they will charge you for 500 pesos per the next days!

Hot showers, huge area with a really beautiful river behind it!

After beeing away for 2 days we decided to come back to camping rustico because it was much better than the other campsites. Its a really good vibe here! Its also cheaper than other ones. And you will meet other overlander's. Totally recommended. Enjoy!

The only camping in el Bolson which is open at start of the season 1-11. Nice place with herbs and blossom trees. 1000 pesos 2 p. with truck camper. Electricity at the place.

Report Check-In

Nice, cheap and natural campsite. Fabian, a very helpful man, is now in charge again and he keeps the place clean and provides all the services you need (use of kitchen, washingmachine gratis). Close enough to town, river access and extremly dogfriendly. The sanitary rooms are a little bit rustico and the shower erratic. Price for two people with a truckcamper 1400 peso (1000 if you mention iOverlander ).

The price has changed again, now 200pppn in a van. No extra charge for the van. Quite a sandy area but with lots of space for tents; we were able to fit by one of the domes and get some shade between the trees, a light and a plug socket. Bathrooms are still a bit of a mess, and the broken washing machine is still hanging around, but it was fine for a night. No Wi-Fi. Sinks for doing laundry by hand behind the buildings, and there's a bit of a kitchen. easy walking distance into town.

New owner, price update : 300 pp. At the time we went it was in renovation (shower & kitchen).

Report Check-In

New owner Raul took over and re-opened mid November 2019. He speaks English and was very helpfull. He is still working on the site to get everything properly up and running.
We couldn‘t access electricity from all sites (plugs not connected everywhere) and therefore he gave us a cable as extension to ours so we could connect at the house.
Bathrooms were still in „repair“ mode (no shower curtains) but usable.
Washing maschine was standing in the yard but not connected (will probably be thrown out).

Price is now ARS 200 pp/night + ARS 100/night for our motorhome. No free nights for iOverlander users anymore.

Report Check-In

Looked closed. No one answered. Might be different during high season but look really rundown and messy.

Report Check-In

first night was free, then 150pp.

Fabian is a very nice guy, it's a great place to stay. the dogs on the property are all very sweet and got along well with our diva.

Report Check-In

When we were here a very warm and generous man, called Fabián, was responsible. He cleaned the bathrooms every day, offered paper and a lot of free gifts (juice, cockies, "healing" because he is a shaman).
One night he gave us for free (because we use IOverlander) and the second day we had to pay 100 Peso pp. Do not expect to much from the old and simple washing maschine. But hey! It is free!
The space is limited for camper vans in particular for Big Rigs. We (2,50 × 3,70 × 7,30 m) just fitted on one parking space. All the dogs were at night inside the house, so no barking.

Report Check-In

Great place with friendly people and vibe. Very hippy style camping. We enjoyed 3 nights here. You can walk to town and even some of the hiking trails nearby. Some nice shady sites. Gave us a price of 150 per person / per night for using iOverlander. There is showers that are mostly hot, a gas grill to use and also a washing machine free of charge. The owner has some dogs, but we found them friendly and fun to be around (especially the labrador - take him to the river with a stick!)

Muy, pero muy lindo y agradable lugar. El nombre es apropiado pero tiene todo que uno podría querer. Siempre y cuando uno no busque lujo.
La gente son muy amable y interesante.

Report Check-In

they ask 250 OP, we left. sleep in front of tourist office in the main square

Report Check-In

Good spot for camping and done up with lots of cute decorations. 150 pp when we went. From the description it may be under new management but good for camping. no wifi. Very hippie with trippy art. Very hot shower. One downside is owner has a ton of dogs that are free to roam the camp site.

Report Check-In

As described before. Nice place over the river from town. Nice vibe. It is rustic, but Fabián was super helpful friendly, and generous. Always there to offer help, or to make maté, coffee etc.. I had free cheese bread, cake and apricots! And he let me leave my van there for three days when I went trekking. Give them a try.

Report Check-In

Nice place with lots of room for tents. Kitchen was a bit messy but had all the essentials and 6 burners on the stoves. 100pp for cyclists!

Report Check-In

Nice campsite. Mathilde Cahuil and Edgar are very friendly. Near the river. Hot showers. 120 pesos pp.
