Description

We asked the policemen (who stayed overnight in his "caseta de policia") if we can stay overnight on the parkinglot. He said okay, we should park next to his little police station and he well keep an eye on us. After sunset it was quiet, we had no problems. We tipped the friendly policemen with 50 pesos.

Great place to park. We found it easier to park in the parallel spaces along the road edge. Were there for 3 nights. Very enjoyable but windy at the top!

In low season low traffic so you can Park with a bigger rig on 2 lots, very nice area in the blue hour for Photos, but very very windy, train noises not at night, less lights, only a few cars passing, safe

Nice policeman told us he would keep an eye on the car during the night. He didn't expect anything in return. Busy in the evening but calm at night. Toilets closes at 5pm

Safe spot to park and stay overnight. Amazing view over Zacatecas. Can be busy and noisy sometimes due car traffic. Nice in general.

busy place but dies down at night..police patrolled by moto all night .DONT TIP the police to encourage more corruption. make a coffee or take them cakes. 2 days here I moved to the Zip line parking during the day ... further down the hill at night for a quieter morning ....great place! good walking around the rocks

We stayed here 2 nights. Feels very safe. Tipped the policeman 50 P in the first evening. We parked our van in front of the zip line station. A few (private) cars coming and leaving during the night, the two dogs (always around the zip line station) were barking a bit at night. Other than that it was quiet. We walked down to the cathedral, which takes less than 30 minutes. Taxi from the cathedral back to the Cerro de la Bufa was 60 P.

Great overnight spot. Wait until the night guy arrives to ask. We made the mistake of asking the daytime policewoman who said she would arrange it with her night colleague but then clearly expected a $50 tip for both her and the night guy. If you just park with all the other cars until around 20:30-21:00 ish, then find the night guy, you should only have to pay one $50 tip. Very peaceful night after all the sunset viewers had left.

Stayed one night there at the flat parking spot where the zip lines starts; we talked to tourist police women and gave a 50Pesos tip; at a Sunday night/ holiday? It was quite busy until 22:30pm; I had a calm night and felt safe

Excellent spot with awesome view of the city at night. Tourists during the day. Zacatecas a Unesco Heritage site is a worthy stop over at an elevation above 8000 feet. The center of the city is beautiful and authentically Mexican. The tourists police are extremely friendly and helpful and of course tipped them 50 pesos. Very safe here.

Nous avons demandé aux policiers de la "caseta policia" pour passer la nuit sur le parking, sans hésiter ils nous ont dit "oui bien-sûr et rapprochez-vous de nous pour la nuit".

Très aimables !

We too ask the policeman. he said yes and gave us some local maps. great views and quiet after sun went down albeit cold! paid the officer 50 pesos.

Report Check-In

We asked the policeman if we could sleep in our car (not a camper) in the lot and he said sure. Then, seeing us trying to sleep in our cramped car he actually let us sleep in his quarters. They were VERY tiny, but it was indoors and the three of us could lie down. It was as bare bones as it gets, but it did the job.
