You can use bathrooms and showers at the pool in addition to the newly built facilities at the camping area. There's a really nice restaurant with typical Swiss and Uruguayan food. 10 usd per car and night. 15 usd per camper and night. Good wifi.

Has wather and energy! Nice and calm place Sure I recomendo

Report Check-In

The Hotel Suizo is ONLY open for sleep and breakfast - the restaurant does not open for other meals.
It’s a delightful space where you can park your camper in the hotel grounds, in the area reserved for campers. There’s a few points for electric hookup . A self contained shower sink and toilet, the cleanest so far in Uruguay- downside only one unit and there were 8 of us last night - if someone is in the shower, nowhere else for bathroom!
The swimming pool is lovely and available for campers.
Owner extremely friendly
Seems there are a lot of long term travellers who park their overland vehicles here for a few months in between trips back home.
$USD 10 each per night - a little on the expensive side but probable worth it given the spotless facilities.

For the fourth year, we are enjoying the wonderful hospitality of Rolf and his family. Peaceful location. electricity and hot showers, wifi, and garbage disposal. Short walk into town for groceries. We love it here as the base from which we explore this incredible continent

Report Check-In

Nice, green place, quiet. Ample space, very nice pool. Clean toilets and hot showers.

Report Check-In

Rolf is a very nice and helpful owner, the price for us was 900 UYU (or $20) for a night. Clean toilet (with toilet paper) and shower (hot water) and nice big swimming pool (which was not as clean when we were there). Internet rather slow and doesn’t reach the camping area.

Report Check-In

we stay two days here, Rolf is a very gentle owner. nice pool area. racomandable.

Report Check-In

We are back at the beautiful Hotel Suizo after an 18-month interval away due to Covid. Our vehicle was in great shape after being cared for by the host, Rolf Haber. Rolf also picked us up at the airport after a long journey from Canada and helped us organize an appointment for the PCR test. Electricity, water, wifi, showers and swimming pool all functioning in this beautiful and peaceful place. The restaurant is closed indefinitely.

Report Check-In

we spent 3 beautiful days here.
gladly we confirm the descriptions!

Report Check-In

Wanderful site to stay. In the beautiful park of the Swiss Hotel (good restaurant too), plenty of eucaliptus and pines, lot of bird and green parrots. Everything is very clean, including the pool available also for camping guests. We spent here two month and a half during the Coronavirus pandemia and we felt very safe, very quite, far from people agglomeration but only 15 minutes walking from a small supermarket and 30 minutes to the city center with any kind of shop an services. Rolf and Elsa the owners are very kind and helpful for everything you can need. Also available for RV long time storage at a very reasonable price. HIGLY RECOMMENDABLE

15US$ per night. We were here from 20 March and confined because of coronavirus concerns and because we could not get our scheduled flight from Buenos Aires due to border closing. What incredible luck that we found this campsite, one of the best we have seen in South America. In addition to all the excellent amenities described in earlier check-ins, the grounds are huge and immaculately cared for, giving us lots of room to wander. The pool is open and clean. The facilities are cleaned daily. We can walk into the centre for excellent food shopping. Rolf, the host, is super accommodating. (We had gone to UY Storage, planning to store our vehicle there, but when we heard we would be stuck, we also knew we would not be happy with a prolonged stay at UY storage due to the remote location.)

Report Check-In

Super nice place with pool and quiet area to spend the night. Facilities are very clean and owner is a charming Swiss guy.
We recommend you this place if you are looking for quietness. Only bad side is some dogs were barking at night but that might not be the case for everyone.
Price is UYU550 for the night.

Report Check-In

great place and friendly owner and family, campground is 15 usd for a family of 4 with rtt and use of pool hot showers clean bathroom included, great atmosphere and very well maintained space

Report Check-In

A beautiful place to park up, the grounds are immaculate and the pool and hot shower are a welcome change after wild camping for several days. Price 550 pesos per night over Christmas - we were happy to pay for the treat! The restaurant is open, but not in the evenings. Better to come stocked up. Wi-Fi good enough for WhatsApp calls back home.

Report Check-In

We just returned today to collect our vehicle after the Aduana story. Only trouble was getting the stickers off the doors again;)

According to Rolf all issues are now resolved and vehicle owners will be allowed to leave the country while leaving their vehicle in Uruguay for up to a year. No requirement to store in a zona franca or anything. Rolf got this information directly from the aduana when he called them.

So, seems like Uruguay is back on the map for overlanders in South America:) Hope to meet many of you on the road in the future!

Report Check-In

To clarify things.... this had nothing to do with camping at Hotel Suiza. It only affected people who stored their car longterm and where not present when Customs showed up to check.... CAMPING IS STILL NICE AND NO PROBLEM

Report Check-In

Great hotel and restaurant, no really a campground, more of a car or motorhome storage. They just build a new bathroom, shower witb hot water, just for great and there are one or two electrical hook up available. In low season we payed 385 pesos for a motorhome and 2 people.
