road almost complete with wonderful smoothe pavement. only 2 dirt section for maybe 5 km max.
It is a fun road with TASTY TWISTIES and new pavement everywhere.
Highly recommend.

road is almost complete. made me wish for my old BMW 330. 10 BOB toll is at the end of the pavement coming from uyuni as of this comment.
Report Check-InNo river crossings with water for us though sometimes a little difficult finding the way. There is a toll stop for 10bob
Report Check-InIf you are tired of the straight roads, this is perfect. The asphalt its brand new, just some parts of "ripio" and a few "desvios" that you have to be carefull to not lost yourself. At the end we find ourselves near the river and cant found the way back to the road. But if you just follow the river (with very small river crossings) you will find tupiza. No need for 4x4.
Report Check-InThe Bolivian govt is making us detour in the canyon river bed While they are working ont the new road. There are water crossings in the detour but nothing deep.
Btw: this road from Tupixa to Uyuni is now almost all paved except for 30km of good dirt. It is a fun road with TASTY TWISTIES and new pavement everywhere.
Highly recommend.
