Report Check-In

Actually, the campsite is closed but the moment we arrived with our 4x4 rooftop tent, the family was very hospitable. We were given a spot on the gravel next to the house because the campsite is closed.
The showers and toilet are available, but are located in the residence and are not very fresh. If you are going to visit park Corcovado, the campsite is fine for one night and you can also leave your car there for a second night for a fee We paid 6000 colon pppn. Fine for one night but not as beautifully green as described earlier. Safe and quiet though.

Report Check-In

The campsite is closed but as described it’s possible to camp in his backyard and use his house facilities. Was not very nice but since the other camping was closed and we had to catch the ferry at 5.30am we still did. We have safely left the car another night during our corcovado tour. Not really recommended but there is not much options in puerto Jimenez. If you shouldn’t be it the village, there is much nicer places just outside!

Report Check-In

please be careful, Adonis is not a nice guy
Long story short, one of the dog living there made a 30 cm hole in my tent. the whole day he said he would cover the cost after I found the cheapest option on the internet.
all of a sudden he changed and told me he would only give me the equivalent of 50$ instead of the 200$. he said it was my responsibility. I calmly reminded him that it is his land and his dog. then he became mad, threatened to hit me and his family had to intervene to calm him down.
he charged me for the night and kicked me off the campground at almost 9pm.

Report Check-In

As mentioned before they are currently building the campground and facilities, but you can park next to their house. Adonis was very accommodating and it was a good spot for us - not really many options for big rigs in Puerto Jimenez. We also left the truck parked for one night while we went on a tour to Coronando NP.
We also went to see "his" crocodiles - because of low water levels only two small ones showed, but still fun.

Report Check-In

You can camp here but have to use the toilet and shower in the house of the owner. There is also no fence. They are rebuilding the place. We decided not to stay here.

Report Check-In

we call Adonis, its rebuild and open, you can go

Beautiful spot, good wifi. very near to a restaurant, close-by laundry, basic shower and functional toilet! Great spot for enjoying a few days!

Report Check-In

Big grassy area, with basic but good facilities. Adonis was very friendly. He gave us a complimentary crocodile tour to show caymans and a huge American crocodile. Close to the beach, lovely swim!

Report Check-In

Really nice place to stay! Very close to the beach and the owner Adonis is friendly and helpful! Take the crocodile tour (free if you camp at the camping, otherwise $20,-), an absolute must do while staying here. Enjoyed it!

Report Check-In

Nice campground
Electricity / water / shower etc…
Adonis is really nice and helpful
He can show you the crocodiles around

Report Check-In

a basic camping with everything you need. yes the wifi is basic but the host makes more than up for it. Funny guy who speaks english and will take you with him for a crocodile tour. he is interested in his guests and is willing to give advice. would definitely recommend. we don't recognize the earlier comment about Adonis.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place to stay over! We stays here for 2 nights and if we had more time we would stay longer. The owner is very kind. There is a bathroom and shower where you can make us of and they do organise crocodile tours. This tour was amazing!! We saw many crocodiles and the owner does exactly know where to find them. The tour will cost $ 20,- pp.

If you’re nearby, I will recommend to do the trip and to stay here.

Report Check-In

Stayed for two nights, Adonis is the most friendly host you can imagine. Very enthusiastic to have a daily chat with you. Made sure the sanitary facilities where clean enough upon arrival.
He is busy making a higher shelter for rooftop tent cars we had. He used ours for welcoming hight measurements.

If you have time, do enjoy and take your time in the morning. We had a coffee with all birds around (macaws, tucans, ibis) but also iguanas and a crocodile! Could imagine Adonis his crocodile tour is pretty much worth it.

Report Check-In

Simple, large, grassy field. Great for camping with any equipment. Easy to find paid 4,000 colon pppn with a 4x4 with rooftent.

Report Check-In

Second time here, 3 years apart, and just as good as the first time. We were planning on staying 1 night but decided to stay 2 and move on to Drake after that.

Report Check-In

Large grassy field, 10 min walking from town center.
Electricity available. Lots of birds everywhere.
Adonis wasn't as helpful as he was supposed to be according to other comments. Couldn't find us a guidé to Corcovado. Said everything was now difficult with the pandemic.
It however a nice place but don't count on Adonis help anymore.
Toilets and shower are very basic
Wifi only available close to Adonis house.

Report Check-In

Big grassy hedged area with covered area where you can sit during the rains. Showers and bathrooms. Very nice guy Adonis. He has 6 dogs on his property (some tied up) but they are well behaved. Lots of birds and iguanas. C3000pppn. Ants and mosquitoes.

Report Check-In

Very buggy, the ants HURT! Campsite gives you all the basic usuals, covered area, bathroom, shower. I swear the owner Adonis had an electronic tag on but couldn’t tell, seemed nice enough though. They also kept our stuff in between our stays as we were hiking in corcovado.

Report Check-In

We spent three nights with a 24 feet. Adonis is really an excellent host. We paid 3000 colonans per person per night. He found us a French speaking guide to visit Corcovado Park. In fact we do not need a guide and it is not mandatory as written in several guides.

Report Check-In

Have been here for 3 nights. Adonis is a very nice host, making a nice talk every day. Speaks a lot of languages and is eager to learn new. The camping space is nice with a big shelter in the middle of the grass area with electricity. The walls of the douches are a bit low for longer people, but high enough in the end.
You have to do the crocodile tour, standing 2 meter apart from a 4 meter long crocodile.
If you want to have a guide for Corcovado national parc, ask Adonis for his friend Sixer. He is a very good licensed guide, taking you into the parc for an unforgettable experience.

Report Check-In

Highly recommended owner (Adonis) is super nice and will try to make you feel like home. Clean bathroom, shower, water. If you have the opportunity you have to do the crocodile tour W Adonis you won't regret it's something different from other tours

Report Check-In

Super friendly camping with a large grassy area with shade, large opened tent to enjoy the outside even if it rains.
We were there with our 12tons RV, electricity is perfect and can hold AC, potable water, showers, toilets and WiFi.
Big plus, Adonis the owner is super friendly, we enjoyed courtesy mangos, Cocos, y many more succulent exotic fruits.
There are also tours organised to discover the beautiful national park, the mangrove and the fauna. Adonis knows a lot more than some official guides we met in other places of Costa Rica.
All commodities (shops, supermarket and restaurants) within walking distance.
Paid 6 dollars pp

Report Check-In

Super friendly owner Adonis welcomes you on this large property where you can camp for C 3000 pp per night. Includes cold showers, toilets (flush/no TP), electricity, Wifi and water to top up your tank.
There’s lots of wildlife to see: toucans, macaws, lizards, crocodile all in front of your doorstep

Report Check-In

You should definitely go there while being in the Osa Peninsula. Adonis and his kids are extremely nice! The campground is great ...especially because you can see about 20 aras in the trees in the morning, a couple of pelicans and the second day, a family of monkeys Titi went joined us too! Wonderful! (plus Adonis worked a lot in opening the entry to Corcovado NP to tourist without guide...)

Report Check-In

Good camping for a night and very close to the water. Beware that there are a few little bits that bite around Puerto Jiménez and you won't be able to get rid of them.
Adonis is really nice and speaks English, Russian, Spanish and Japanese.
plenty of room for big rigs and all sorts of overlanders.

Report Check-In

Adonis is a really nice guy who speaks good English. Basic but clean toilets, good cold/warm showers, depending on what time of day you use them. undercover parking or lots of room under trees for shade. water hose if you need to top up, and washing up sinks. If you need to charge anything Adonis will run an extension lead from his house for you to use. wifi available, but we didn't use it so don't know how fast it is. there are bars, restaurants and shops within 5 minutes, and the beach is a 30 second walk!

Report Check-In

Adonis is great guy! Only near his house has WiFi and electric.

Report Check-In

What more can we say about Adonis that hasn’t already been said?! He alone is a reason enough to stay and will make sure you feel right at home.

Additionally, he now has a covered camping area which was a great help during the rainy season.

Report Check-In

Very nice flat campsite with lots of shade and trees. Adonis is a very nice guy! He built a place with a roof in the middle of the campsite where you can relax and have a drink. We stayed here for 1 night but would definitely go back here again!

Report Check-In

Good place to camp, Adonis is a very nice guy. He built a big palapa in the middle of his place where we chilled with other overlanders for three days. Few bugs (mosquitos and no seems) but not too bad. Facilities were clean and the water in the shower so refreshing. Pretty quiet at night, only a little bit music from the nearby bars. Internet didn’t really work but the bars around have good WiFi.

Report Check-In

A nice place, also for big rigs. There is a palapa for sun and rain protection. Adonis is a nice man, he speaks english and even a little bit german. He offers a crocodile tour for 10 Dollar/Person. We can recommend this, because the crocodiles know him, listen and do what he says. It is amazing!

Report Check-In

One night no more than that. Bugs are brutal, tall grass, no roof to sit under during rain.

Report Check-In

Thanks to Adonis for 2 wonderful days at his campground. clean toilet and cold shower. nice place close to the mangrove beach. much wildlife on this place. worth to see and stay a couple days. 5,-dollar/pp/night

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed this camp spot. Lots of area to set up, clean showers and bathrooms, plus a nice laundry sink. There were dozens of scarlet macaws, a family of monkeys, and even a sloth. Adonis is a very kind person, we felt at home. The beach across the road is great for swimming, and we actually enjoyed the few planes that take off and land every day. 2500 colones pp

Nice place with a lot of birds, like two tucans.
Only minor thing is not the runway but the continuous loud music from the Delfines bar across the road.
We stayed 3 nights.

This place is nice and at a perfect location and Adonis a helpful chap. The Camping is still open and not (yet) sold. The price is 5 USD per person and night.

Report Check-In

Its a really nice place. Quiet and lots of wildlife at the camping like toucans, crocodiles and parrots. There are toilets and cold showers. Its very close to the beach and some fine restaurants.
Adonis is a friendly guy. You can use the power in his house if you want, there is no power at the campsite. Adonis asked us to write down that the price has gone up from 4 to 5 dollar per person per night.
We can recommand this place to everyone!

Caution: Site not signed. As soon as you turn onto dirt road past Delfinas Restaurant, turn right into place with kayaks and Crocodile Tour - 20'. Do not drive further up dirt road - no place to turn around.
Adonis is friendly.
Although large grassy area to choose parking spot in, grass is full of minute black biting bugs - maybe fleas? Need insect repellent all the time. No sign of wifi.
Relatively quiet except when planes are landing/taking off - 4 or 5 per day.
Handy to swimmable beach.

Great place in Port Jim. Adonis is very friendly and there's a plethora of wildlife to see from the campground. While there we saw a couple crocs (or maybe they were caiman), toucans, howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, scarlet macaws, iguanas, and probably more I'm forgetting. We also met many other overlanders.

The bathrooms are clean (bring your own toilet paper), and the price is affordable at 4000 colones/night for two people.

As the last reviewer stated, noseeums/black flies are hanging about in most of Port Jim.

If you want wifi, the password for the restaurant on the beach-side road nearby, Marisquería Corcovado Seafood, is

Adonis is very friendly and speaks a few languages. Speak to him before you book ANY tours in the area. Place has lots of shade, clean banos (no TP or lights but seats). There is wifi but they will enter PW themselves on your device. Great movistar reception. We paid 4000C per night with power. When we left we gave him extra as it seemed too little as we ran our AC at night. We saw toucans, macaws, Crocs, parrots, iguanas and an anteater right at campsite.

We also payed 2000 colones per person. He hooked us up with electricity from his house. Wi-Fi was not available. The bathrooms and showers were clean, but be aware that they have no light. I stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 nights with a tent and it was great! We payed for 2000 colones per person per night, so its very cheap! Adonis is a very friendly guy who likes to help you. There ar a lot of iguanas around and that is pretty cool! The runway on the side is used occasionally, there were about 6 planes in 2 days. So a good place to stay next to the beach! And his brother is a guide for his beautiful own forest, so maybe he can help you.

Report Check-In

Nice, close to beach 2000c per person.

Report Check-In

Great place, big grassy area with showers and toilets. Adonis is a great guy and we really enjoyed our time in Puerto Jimenez. How come no one mentioned the animal diversity on the campsite itself? Iguanas, basiliscos, macaws, ibis and... crocodiles and caimans that Adonis will show for free to campers. Seriously, that was incredible. Bring mosquito repellent though.

Report Check-In

Nothing to add, but still here. Super friendly dude, and yes big grassy area. Yes bathroom/cold shower. No to wifi. $2k per person.

Report Check-In

2,000 colons (about 2USD) per night per person.
The owner Adonis is incredibly helpful and nice. He is also an unofficial guide, which we didn’t learn until we were leaving but I would suggest if you want to hike Osa Peninsula he would be a great guide. He knows and is very interested in protecting the wildlife. It is a large grass area with shade trees a few meters from the beach and a restaurant with wifi. Clean bathrooms. If you need electric you can hook up to the house. There are resident caimans in the lagoon and lots of iguanas.

Report Check-In

Lovely large grass area with lots of trees for shade, a few meters from the beach and restaurant with wifi, only down side is that it's next to the run way, not too much of a problem very small aircraft and only occasional flights. Clean bathroom with cold shower. Walking distance to town. Lots of wildlife. No electric or wifi at moment this is to be installed in May along with new bathrooms. If electric is a must you can hook up to the house.
