Description

Free dry campground and dog park, with wifi, friendly conversation, electricity, a beer fridge and occasional campfires in a pit depending on wind mostly so we don't start a wildfire anywhere. 'Dry; - meaning he has no water source on site, but hauls water from a publicly owned station with water, potable and non-potable located within 1/4 mile.

There are several buses for use as hostels and one has a shower. Public restroom in a park located 1/4 mile away. Free publicly owned dump station nearby. All of this information is on a map of Arco posted on his website.

Microwave and propane BBQ for use by everyone who wants it.

Ran and started by a disabled Army vet who named the place after a dog who he promised her own park while they were homeless together. She passed shortly after its purchased but it will forever be hers. But he believes people shouldn't have to worry about where they are going to camp or whether or not the cops will come knocking in the middle of the night.

He doesn't ask for donations, but it makes him sad when people don't take the time to read his website. Is that too much to ask?

The bathrooms are dirty, mostly because you pee outside or use your own since there aren't any. It's a field with power, a dude with wifi and a beer fridge.

Scar is a no nonsense, honest, helpful, straightforward guy enjoying life. We got the feeling he just wants to do right by the world and make it a better place. We enjoyed the fire and great conversations.

Honey’s is a great place to stay with no expectations for anything in return. It is within a very reasonable driving distance to Craters of the Moon National Monument.

We found everything exactly as described on the website. Take time to read through the website. Don’t be or do stupid and it’s a great place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time getting to know Scar. Highly recommend you do it too. 5+ stars

Show up and you'll meet Scar, a welcoming host with useful tips for the surrounding area. Have a chat, he has a great sense of humor. Tent camping is great here, just find a more flat area which is easy with little effort. He also provides electric connections for campers/trailers (30A&40A).
Scar has a few reasonable requests during your stay so please listen and oblige. If it's not for you, there is a KOA next door... but you should be able to play nice for a free nights stay and free amenities (including beer!), right?

It is a wonderful place. He and Ruby are magical. Everything very clean and organized. It is excellent to be there. Thanks for everything there.

It's amazing people. Very nice and helpful

Everything as perviously described. Met Scar and Ruby, both very nice. I'm the only one here now as of 4pm. I'm fully capable of off grid camping, so I don't need his amenities although I did jump on the Wifi because I can and save some data. A great place to boondock after driving thru Craters of the Moon NM/P. 100% recommended.

Scar is an amazing, kind, funny and generous man! We were
Very privileged to stay here with him and Ruby overnight. His land is flat, and had beautiful views, comfortable accepting atmosphere and free WiFi and shore power! Not to mention some great conversations at the fire pit. Definitely worth a stop if you’re ever near Arco. Be sure to say hi to Scar, and introduce yourself! It is his private land that you’re staying on for free after all, least you can do is say hi and thank you in person!! Please remember to respect him, his land, his dog Ruby, and practice “Leave No Trace” principles! Pack it in, pack it out! So we can all continue to enjoy this amazing place!

Such a nice place to stay at! We 100% recommend this place. Super dog friendly if you have one, everyone is welcomed and you can stay as long as you want! Great view as well!

Great time meeting the owner Scar. Very relaxed atmosphere and plenty of places to dry camp or get a hookup. Bring a few beers for Scar as no charge to camp. Met some fun people traveling across the US, and the stars were amazing. Fun stories as we talked until late evening.

Great and very quiet. Scar has a huge open space for camping of any kind. He was also kind enough to let us use the shower in the guest RV. Be respectful and don't take a long one though... he carts that water in himself!! Thanks to Scar for opening up his place to weary travelers.

I'm the owner of Honeys. There is wifi, there are many RV outlets at campsites, not sure who though electrical was not at sites but it does exist and gets expanded every year. I'm guessing the original post was from early on and maybe the outlets weren't in years ago.
Water and dump stations, potable and non potable are located nearby and free.
Guest use camper, as well as a low water use camper shower available for guest use in the guest camper. It's not a big unit like the commercial campgrounds get but its here and free.
I also keep a propane bbq, microwave oven, and a beer fridge for use by visitors. Beat that KOA who for some reason shows up over my place until you zoom in close. (did iOverlander pick a side on this one?)

Scar and Ruby were there to greet us as we pulled in on a Saturday evening! We set up our tent and walked down to Pickle’s for dinner (it was busy but the fried pickles and beer battered cheese curds were worth it!) then wandered back for beers with Scar and our fellow travelers. We were able to use the WiFi from our tent and charged our phones while we talked and drank beer long into the night. Can’t recommend this place enough! Thanks Scar!

Scar graciously offers his land as a free parking spot for travelers. He even has an old RV with a spare bed for those on bicycles that need a place out of the wind. Check out his website for all the information, but he doesn’t need a heads up that you’re coming and he doesn’t close. It’s a dirt and partially grassy lot with a view of the distant mountains. He loves dogs and currently has a beautiful hound dog named Ruby that enjoys sniffing around the area.

Amazingly nice guy that just wants to help folks out that need a place to park. Google “Honey’s Park Arco Idaho” and you can find his website easily there as well. He just wants people to respect him and his property, but otherwise, all are welcome!

BONUS: He speaks German and Spanish and loves to practice his skills!
