Picnic area | Tourist Attraction

Uso de día solamente. Excelente lugar para descansar. Preguntamos a la policía dónde dormir y básicamente en cualquier carretera pública. Ningún estacionamiento está permitido. Dormimos cerca del Safeway o Palace of fine Arts sin problemas. Al siguiente día a las 6am se puede regresar a pasar el día aquí.

Day use only. Excellent place to rest. We asked the police where to sleep and basically at any public street. Not any parking lot is allowed. We slept near the Safeway or Palace of fine Arts with no problems. Next day at 6am you can return and spend the day in picnic area.

full weekend, cars not longer than 27 feet allowed, no overnight, very crowded

Great spot to spend the day- we weren’t planning to spend the night but were still hanging out here watching a movie in the van around and cops came and told us (and the 3 other vehicles-not overlanders-to leave around 8:30/9pm.
No parking sign says 12am-6am but we left when the cops asked us to.

lugar solamente para pasar el dia, no se puede dormir. Se puede dejar el vehiculo para ir a recorrer. Seguro y gratis. Hay duchas de agua fria, baño, mesas, parrilla. MUy muy lindo lugar

place just to spend the day, you can not sleep. You can leave the vehicle to go touring. Safe and free. There are cold showers, bathroom, tables, grill. VERY VERY NICE PLACE

Maybe because was Saturday night but police officers came around midnight and asked all the vehicules to leave right away. During the day it's look like there is some kind of "permanent residents" but they are leaving at night. We moved to the Safeway parking lot on the marina but the manager knock on our door at 7:30am and tell us roughly to move... Maybe was bad luck but seems hard to spend the night here.
Anyway During the day the spot is great with water to fill up your bottles, cold showers, beach and nice view.

Ótimo lugar, linda praia, linda vista da Golden Gate, super tranquilo e seguro, diz que não pode overnigth, mais tinha várioa motorhomes dormindo lá. Não tivemos problemas nenhum. Recomendamos.

We were planning to use this place to park while exploring SF. There were so many RVs parked at night that we decided to stay as well. Note that there are 'no overnight' signs posted though.

Spent the night there without problems. There were a bunch of other campers incl. an at least 28f long RV too. Saw a whale and sea lions in the bay. Very quite at night. No Wifi. But you will have in the next parking lot to the right just down the street where the harbour is. San Fran Wifi.

Very nice place , and we got lucky spent the night here no problems. Some locals told us that it’s a hit and miss So we took the chance and was great

Didn't stay there. But saw several RV stay there overnight. One even with a generator. So I think it is ok for overnight parking.

Great picnic area with washroom and an outdoor shower. the shower is cold, but Free. you have there also an Sandy Beach with an spectacular view to the golden Gate Bridge. you can spend there an whole day :-) thanks for sharing

You have here water, public restrooms and showers, picnic tables, big loans, and all of these right in front of Elcatraz prison and Golden Gate Bridge!! Beach accessible and very good for kite surfing. Sign says no overnight parking, but it's a very nice place to spent a day and taking some rest from overlanding
