Something not right?

Description

Large sand lot. $12/ night. Rocky beach. It's a rocky, but pretty beach and is a popular surf spot. There is a bathroom, but that's about it. It's clean enough to use. Stay right after the toll, the sign for San Miguel comes up quick. Pay at the little booth near the San Miguel restaurant then head down the bumpy road to the right. It was quiet while we were there and have us a chance to get a good night sleep after the border crossing. We chose to stay here after the border crossing in San Ysidro because we needed to get our tourist visas in Ensenada in the morning before heading further South. This made it cheap and easy.

Good save spot. We paid 300 for 1 night. Good spot to spend the night even if you’re not a surfer. Made a nice campfire. There is a road nearby which can be a bit noisy, but after all good spot .

Slept here in 2018 when I drove the Americas and again this week (doing it again, lol). Still pretty cool and safe spot, beach is super peaceful during the week, no cars with loud music, no couples arriving late. Weekends anything can happen :) asked if they would give me a discount if I stay a week, he said yes, that he would charge me 300 pesos for six nights and give me the last night for free. But I ended up going to sleep in another place (the pin called Ensenada) close to downtown so I could be walking distance to everything. If you need an outlet here to charge whatever device, there’s one in the taco stand, and they dont open during the week.

Camping in a big beach parking lot. 300 pesos per night and felt secure. Right in front of the San Miguel surf break. Toilet and cold showers here. Only negative was the road traffic at night. But it’s super close to Ensenada so a great place to be if you’re wanting to stop near by

Lots of room down in the parking lot, but
the road/driveway to get down has some very low trees. Once in with our fifth wheel we didn't want to back out onto Mex 1, so we kept going but we got some scratches on the side. Vans would be ok. 300 pesos/$15 for the night, check out is only 7pm the next day, so no rush. staff is nice. Like others have mentioned the beach is rocky, parking is nice hard and flat.

300 pesos for the night. There are bathrooms in the dirt lot open all night. It was dark, you could definitely hear Jake brakes from the highway above but not bad. Surf was decent as well.

Stayed a few nights, paid 300 pesos per night. Access to toilets and cold showers.

Report Check-In

Stayed for 1 night $12 or 200 pesos rocky beach counted 31 surfers yesterday afternoon. Toilet is so so. There is 1 restaurant and 1 store nearby. Sound of Jake brakes coming down the hill on the highway. If you’re in to surfing it’s probably great if not it could be missed

Its definitely too expensive for what it is, I guess because it is still quite close to the border, but: it feels super safe, the bathrooms were cleaned twice a day and on the weekend people sell firewood. Supermarket is close and its nice to watch the surfers!

Dirt parking lot on a rocky shoreline. Lots of people around when we arrived but most left just after sunset. We were the only campers. More people showed up around 10pm playing crazy loud music for about 2 hours. Some road noise. Very windy. No showers. Not really worth 200 pesos in my opinion.

Actually I've been living here for 5 months, but wanted to provide some info. Just past the K-99 toll booth turn right just before the San Miguel road sign just before the Extra market. The San Miguel Restaurant is open for breakfast/brunch until 1pm (every day but Monday and maybe Wednesday). Great food for around 100-150 pesos, and indoor and outdoor seating with a nice view of the ocean.
There is also a bar that is open in the evening - I've never seen it get too crowded, but the bartender is a nice guy and the vibe is mellow.
Camping is $12 a night, or $5 to park by day. The surf is best on a West or Northwest swell and tends to pick up more in the winter. The seashore is all round rocks, a bit tough on bare feet when entering and exiting the water. There is a little stream that connects to the ocean (depending on the tide and recent rainfall) which has a sandy shore. I've seen many Mexican families play with their kids there.
There's a little restroom down at the beach parking lot, but there is also a larger public restroom with better showers if you go up one of the little ramps towards the houses.

The Extra market has everything from beer to eggs and coffee (think Mexican 7-Eleven). To the south, in the town of El Sauzal there is a Calimax for major grocery shopping. The popular taco joints there are Trailero and Flamazo a couple stoplights down on the left. A little known place that has the best and cheapest fish tacos (and shrimp and beef and I think that's it) is a bit north of those restaurants on the same side of the road. It doesn't have a name, but it's right south of a square yellow locksmith building. They close at 6pm. 3 tacos and a soda for 59 pesos.

As mentioned it's basically a parking lot where you can camp. 3 spots with shade, so be early. Restrooms are not really clean. Nice views. 200/night

Found the place to be just as described in the other comments. Good for surfing and a first stop after crossing the border. The restaurant (at the entrance booth) has free wifi but not in the camping area.

150 pesos a night, great surf, no water, flush toilets

We actually really like this very basic site. You're right on the beach. The neighboring homes are very quiet and even though it's right off the main road, it's tranquil. The beach is rocky but there's a small sandy section to enjoy as well. I liked that I could see my husband surf while prepping dinner. Cold shower. The bathrooms are basic but they are clean and they came to clean them first thing in the morning. If you get a chance, about 2-3 miles south of the site, on the left hand side of the road (as you head south), there's a fantastic taco stand/taqueria by the name of el trailero. We ate there twice in 2 days because it was delicious. I had vegetarian tacos and my husband enjoyed the torta.

Bathrooms weren't so nice, but it was an OK spot. Didn't feel 100% safe, but it was our first night in Mexico. There were some other gringos there too.
