Something not right?

Description

Large grassy camping area, right by the lake. We were given access to shower/toilet in a nearby room – but not very nice! Food ok here, but there is a posh hotel next door which is much better, or a fantastic Italian just round the corner. (300 BIRR for 2 people)

Great place to stay with the tent (we placed it near the pool that is closed), a lot of monkeys to play with and many birds. ATTENTION: it's ok for 1 night, but not longer with the tent, as the monkeys were jumping on it when we left it unattended! so we had to move in the bungalow (for 490 Birr/room including breakfast). with the tent it is still the same price. the restaurant is very good with a lot of choices! the dark beer Doppel is great! the music is not disturbing much.

we ended up there when we didn't found another place to park our motorhome (to be honest we were a bit lazy and didn't search very hard...).
it was actually a nice stay !
we paid 150ppn, children were free.
we stayed in the parking lot, not wanting to camp among the tables.
yes there is music but not so loud. and it stopped while we were dining at the Italian restaurant nearby. the music started again at 8.00 am.
we spent a very quiet night and right now the kids are having a great time watching the monkeys (vervet and colobes) playing around.
we didn't use any facilities so I can't tell about it.

Absolutely fantastic place to camp. The camping area is huge. We took a spot as far as we could away from the restaurant and bar. On a large flat area right next to the lake. Toilets in the restaurant were ok. Watch out for the monkeys. They won’t do any damage but they did enjoy climbing on our vehicle and trailer. Amazing birds as well. Plenty to watch whilst relaxing by the water.

Camping is indeed on the lakeside which would be nice, if the bar wasn’t located there too. You’re literally parking/camping between the restaurant tables. You could smell the toilets from outside already and they blast music between 7 and 22. I wouldn’t recommend it.

This is a very simple camp on the edge of Lake Awassa where we were charged 300ETB to park and sleep in our rooftop tent. The toilets and shower are what they are: public toilets and African ones at that.

Plus points: the wildlife! There are lots of Colobus monkeys, ducks, cats and birds.

Negative points: the park starts playing traditional Ethiopian music very loudly at 6:30AM. Highly unnecessary, drowning out the natural sounds of the wildlife.

This place is rather rundown and in serious need of rehabilitation. We camped behind the restaurant for 150 birr pppn, and was given access to use the restrooms by the restaurant. It seemed like it hadn't been cleaned for decades, filthy and disgusting with no running water at the time.

At first, this place looks good with the amazing view and the pool, but the pool is green like acid and does not look healthy to swim in, showers didn't work either. The staff however is kind and speaks ok English. It was nice to enjoy the sunset, but with a warm beer as they didn't keep them cool. Breakfast is seriously overpriced at 70 birr for a few slices of bread and two eggs. Don't serve coffee until later in the day.

We also enjoyed our night here. You can camp on the grass site before the lodges and use the shower at the swimming pool area. We used the toilets next to the restaurant.
And there is wifi you can use.

This place is now called Progress International Rezort Hotel. Little bit run down but great view over the lake, lots of birds and very cheeky monkeys! Very quiet at night. I was given access to the common toilets which were sitting type and fairly clean. 150 birr per night. Nearby Italian indeed is excellent!! But expensive.
