Latest Check-Ins

Wanted to stay here for the night before we head to Guatemala.
10p.m the police knocked on our door, they recommended us to park right in front of the border (its safer because the police is there all night)

Report Check-In

Stayed for one night with our campervan. Traffic slows down after 9pm, apparently when the border with Guatemala closes.
We stayed at the upper parking near the Basketball court. The lower parking was under water. It seems the water in the river was even higher some days before. So, be careful on the lower parking.

Great spot. Enjoy 1 night by the river. Nobody bothered us. We were able to swim by sunset and sunrise. Beautiful!! Before leaving just a few kids with their parents came to swim but other than that we had the whole place for ourselves.

Report Check-In

We stayed one night at the downhill hollow space by the river. A lot of locals who come to swim in the afternoon but quiet at night. Around 9 p.m., a police officer came to make sure everything was fine and wished us good night. It was quiet even though it was on the side of the road. We also let the camper ther while going to Xunantunich.

there are some small car parks next to the road right on road level, but also a few little pull-ins to park next to the river (one level below the road). it's with a nice little grassy patch but some trash around. locals come here for bathing in the beautiful and clean river. stunning sunset! it feels fairly safe, the road gets quieter at night. we did not get woken up or disturbed. good free place!

it's a beautiful spot on the River, close to the street, but quiet at night.
the police showed up two times, at 2am and at 6am. they nocked on our windows and checked that everything is ok. they said it's unusual that a with van parks here over night.

we saw howler monkeys on the other side of the river.
the river is very nice to swim and lots of fish.

Report Check-In

We took a look at this place after our crossing from Guatemala. We weren't overly impressed so we kept looking around and found a little pull off about 100 meters west from here. It is a bit more hidden from the road, is set down from the road and has a nice little swimming area made out of stones in the river. We had a relatively quiet night once the traffic reduced after dark and were not woken by police or malendrinos.

Report Check-In

Camped there for a night. We had better camp spots, but the police told us that it's safe there. Quiet at night. We had no problems there. Only a drunken guy asked for money, but nothing else...
Next to a basketball field and a very clear and clean river...
