Description

Nice homestay at a small family place. Good food, warm, electricity. Parking next to the house, toilet outside. Overall very clean, very nice people and the lady of the house speaks English. They also have a second place near-by, so suitable for larger groups. No shower. Price asked was 100 somoni per person, including dinner and breakfast. It was really worth it.

We arrived here in a snowstorm and Rahima and her husband welcomed us warmly. She made sure we were always fed, warm and comfortable. Price is still 200SOM/per person per night which includes a hearty dinner and breakfast. Construction was being done while we were there on the solar shower so perhaps she will have one in service by the summer. We loved this stay. The fact that she speaks English is such a bonus, as we were able to learn a lot more about life in such a remote region. Tcell service did not work in this town.

Paid 200 somoni per person including dinner and breakfast. Considering the far-flung location and the amount of food offered, it was fair.

We extended our stay another night due to snow and paid the 200 pp as agreed. This time, she also made lunch(buckwheat, mountain of bread, homemade apricot jam). Bottomless tea served all-day.

The homestay has a newly installed multiple solar panels. So electricity is no problem. Neighbors go to the homestay to charge their phones.

Highly Recommended.

Very nice guesthouse, would definitively recommend. They were the only guesthouse still open in Alichur and were happy to host us. The homecooked meals were very nice.

nice owner, 170 Somoni per person per night for dorm beds, with dinner and breakfast. Lunch for an extra 20. Good food, homemade bread :) She has kind of a washing machine, not super powerful but that she let us use for free on the condition that we go get water at the well. Which is understandable. Shower is bucket style. They heat the water with the wood-burner. Nice stay overall, we stayed two nights. The second night we even got rice pudding for breakfast.

Really fantastic stay here, can’t recommend enough! Really cozy and warm house. Delicious homemade bread and other tasty food. Comfortable beds and kind host. Highly recommend! Cost 170 som per person which is a bit steep but hey, the food made it worth it!

One of the best homestays I had during my time in Central Asia. I arrived there after riding through a small snowstorm and was greeted with a arm cup of tea and freshly baked bread. The food in general is absolutely delicious (home made butter etc.) Lovely owner who speaks excellent English. The room is heated during the night. Pit toilet outside but no shower available. 150 Som for everything.

Delightful homestay - my favorite accommodation in a long time. I arrived in town as it was getting late and bitterly cold. A bunch of boys (in t-shirts!) directed me here. The first thing I noticed is that it was waaarm inside. The owner, Rahima, is incredibly friendly and attentive. Her English is very good so you can chat and ask any questions you have. the food was quite good, a bit more flavorful than what I've been having for the past while. I got to sleep by myself, while she and her brother went to sleep in their other house. slept like a baby. she can take a maximum of 8-10 people at once. total price including dinner and breakfast was 150 som - totally worth it.

by the way, she says Sher's hotel is permanently closed, and the other homestays are only open during the summer. she is the only one open year-round.

Also, they purchased a solar shower system and by the time you read this it should be installed and operating!

Open year round!

Important notes:

1) This is a Tajik family. ~65% of families in town are ethnic Kyrgyz.

2) This is a true homestay, in which you eat with and sleep next to the family. I ate dinner with the family, watched a Tajik wedding video with them in the evening, and milked cows with them the next morning before breakfast together. (If a huge group comes the family sleeps in their other house.)

3) The food is excellent and I honestly enjoyed eating it. Vegetarian-friendly too! Fresh homemade bread and butter; lentil & vegetable soup; stewed 'salad' of onions, peppers, carrots, tomatoes, and garlic in tomato sauce; rice and vegetable soup; fried dumplings filled with potato and onion...

Very nice and friendly family that speaks very good English. Still asking 100/night including dinner and breakfast, or 50/night without. Parking was in the street outside the house, which isn't ideal but the town is safe.
