Description

Camping inside the fenced area is ilegal but this pull off is OK. Do not go into areas that are fenced even if you see barbed wire has been ripped. Respect private property.

This spot is just the pull off for an overnight spot but the road further down is not great and seems to have completely washed out. Be prepared to go over big rocks and boulders.

still open , great spot, lots of wind and ATV tours here but amazing location.

Report Check-In

This place is permanently closed.

Update, this place is apparently closed. There are watchmen along this road that came up and said the owner no longer wants people camping along here. Daytime access is fine but not overnight.

The beach is nice and there are tons of whales playing off shore but the camping options are not the greatest. Trashy pull offs for the most part and there is a barbed wire fence blocking most access to the beach until a few hundred meters past here where the road turns a little rougher. Not really worth it in my opinion unless you need service and to be close to town. I’ve got 1-2 bars of 3G with ATT and 1 bar of LTE with Verizon.

There are several possibilities along a dort road. It's accessible also with RV's. On the first part are signs that's the beach is private but after that is free and beautiful. We saw Whales and Mobula rays.

I’ve camped here for almost 2 weeks now, and it’s probably one of my top 5 favorite campsites on the entire Baja peninsula. Some days I go for a 5 mile walk on the beach and only see 1 person, some days zero. I wake up to a half dozen whales playing just offshore every single day. Yesterday I bushwhacked a hiking trail to the top of the tallest mountain nearby, 750’ at the summit. This campsite is mind blowing to day the least, and only 15 minutes from the center of San Jose!

Beware of the road going in to this spot. It's really rough. Also, this is NOT the road to Cabo Pulmo. There is another, easier, road more inland that takes you there. We actually drove from (north to south) la Ribera down the east cape and on to San Jose del cabo and it was easy but long.

It is a beautiful area though. Great whale watching and lots of flying rays.

We camped a little further up the road here about 4 nights.
We did get a little stuck at 1 sharp turn on our way out, as our van is 22 feet and a bit too long for the turn... Bit stressful but we made it.
Unless you have 4x4, youre better off picking another spot.
Not suited for RVs or long vans.

stoppwd here for a picnic, old las cabo east was closed 3k down. google will send you wrong so as it has the paved road as closed for some reason. just know the old road by the shore doesn't go through.

Just a dirt path not a road. Really windy with a north wind super exposed. But no body comes out here

Report Check-In

Same as described. We supposed to go to the surf spot but the road was really bad, we decided not to go with our Vanagon. We had a great night here.

We were planning on heading another 20km to a recommended surf beach - however just about 200 meters up the road from this spot - there was a difficult area in the road for our 2wd Chevy Express - so we backed up and pulled off here. Nice views of the ocean - large waves & beautiful rocks scattered about.

Had no idea how rough this road was gonna be!
