Namibia
ND1089 for four adults, which included watching cheetahs being fed and entry to the boulder strewn “Giant’s Playground” with its strange rock formations. Campsites are good, with lots of space. Nice ablutions with hot water.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Owner is rude and abrupt. Thought we might drive around and check out the Quiver Tree Forest and Giant’s playground, but decided against it. The Mesosaurus Campsite down the road is a lot better and you can take photos anytime you want.
Report Check-InWe were going to stay here but upon enquiring about a price just for the night, it was N$1089.00 which I was told included the opportunity to look at some cheetah, like really! To top it I was told that if I wanted to take any pictures of the quiver trees after 7pm, then I will have to pay another N$500.00!!!! I asked why this was so and told, “it’s a business”! So in other words if you have a feature on your farm like a waterfall, rock formations or interesting trees then you must pay more for that. Anyway this place will never see me oh and by the way, do yourself a favour and just drive a little further up to an outstanding camp place called MESOSAURUS FOSSIL CAMP, in my view it’s much much better here, huge place to drive around and packed all over like a forest with quiver trees, also it’s wild camping at best.
Report Check-InAgree with the comments about the lack of friendly reception! They are business people for sure. $1080 for a camping spot for 4 adults was rather pricey, comparative to other places. The Quiver trees are scattered around but from the vantage point on the farm you can go right up close to see the them. The campsite has hot water and the owner checked up on us in the evening. We bought some hard dry firewood from them at $50 a bag which made for a lovely evening's braai (bbq) and campfire. Got no wifi at the campground. Perhaps available at the reception. Sunset was gorgeous.
Report Check-InCamping R1 060 for 4 people including Cheetah Feeding, Quiver Tree Forest entrance and Giants Playground entrance. Basic camping sites with water, power and light. Amblutions very neat and clean with hot water.
Report Check-InWe went to check in today, and they wanted ND1060 for 2 adults and 2 kids (7&9) for 1 night including entry into the forest, but leaving before sunset. If you want to stay after sunset you need a photographer night pass which costs ND 400 per person. We turned around an left. We were here 10 years ago and it cost us ND250 for the same thing (without kids). It’s a shame the owners are doing this. They have way overvalued their asset.
Report Check-InI’ve been coming here for a few years now. This time for 10 days shooting the Milky Way over the Quiver Trees. Playing with the Cheetahs in the morning. It’s a great place to camp if you understand that the winds can get up. So you MUST setup on the far side of the camping area where the last ablution block is but camp in close to the tree/ridge line where you are protected from the wind. Great fresh water, constant power, hot showers and good water pressure….what’s not to like.
Oh, and the owners are lovely people which I why I keep coming back! It’s not cheap, but there’s a lot here if you don’t simply rush through on the way to somewhere else. For me this camp is a Nam highlight.
Very unfriendly owners. We did not use their showers because we have a shower in our camper. They have a swimming pool, but refused to let us fill up our water tank! They said that the region is dry, and we could get 25 l of water in maximum. For two persons camping 330 NAD plus entry fee 200 NAD.
Another camper told us that in the same evening the camera of his friend was stolen behind him, while they sat around the fire. Some hours after leaving the campsite, we noticed that somebody had tried to break open the door of our car, and the door-lock of the cabin was damaged. But we missed nothing. We presume that this happened at the campsite during our sunset walk.
If you’re willing to embrace Namibia’s dusty and rugged terrain, then this is a lovely place for you to stay. The main road is a stone throw away, so camp close to the quiver trees, but enjoy the pool, enjoy the owner and enjoy your selves!!!!!!!
Report Check-InEntrance fee is 65-70 N$ from 6:45 - evening
From getting dark - extra 300N$
(Even 5mins ,whole night )
Camping 150 N$
Check out 10:00
Also you can see some cheaters
Charge is N$510 for 2. Only because you can see cheetahs fed and bred in a cage. Giants playground (only decent thing but free everywhere else). Camp ground badly set. Dusty. Windy. No lights in toilet, poor not clean shower. Light at camp not working. Very windy noisy from road. NOT AT ALL RECOMMENDED. NOT WORTH MORE THEN N$ 280 FOR 2
Report Check-InN$510 camping which includes entry to the Quiver Forest and the Giants Playground. To view the campsite N$200 as you have to pay Park fees as you were entering the Quiver Tree Forest to get to the campsite. How bad can it be? So we decided to stay the night. The campsites are situated right next to the main gravel road which is dusty and noisy..The campsites offer no protection to the wind and dust. I came to view the forest not to watch cheaters being fed that live in a cage. N$200 to photograph the Quiver Forest at night.. I should have read the reviews and moved on...
Report Check-InNot a nice campsite. Hardly any shade, dusty, desolate and no atmospere. We were charged 200 nam. dollars just to look at the campsite. According to the owner, anyone who passed the entrance had been in the quivertree forest, so should pay entrence fees. We would advise to drive 20 km further where you will find a very nice bush campside with just as much quivertrees for half the price.
Report Check-InThis camp site is very expensive!! Only to look at the playground of the giants one should pay 170 edges for two people. On the camp site Gara Quiver Tree park 20 km behind Keetmanhoop on the B1 in the direction of Marien's valley, one can look at as nice quiver trees and at stone giants without paying!

Report Check-InVery expensive place. we paid 660 namibian dollars for 2 adults and 2 children for one nights. the owners charge also 200$ if you want to take pictures at night of the quiver forest... crasy! Can be also windy here without protections.
Report Check-InMuch to expensive as always in Namibia:entrance is 60 PP over 10(!) Yeats, 40 per car, children younger than 10 half price. Camping is additional 130 ppn. So for our family (2+4) for one night more than 800 $ - ridiculous!!!
Report Check-InMuch as below.
Almost no protectiogn against sun and wind and then there is dust blowing around. But each campsite has a powerpoint and most of them have a tap. Super friendly family and lots of animals to observe and play with (9dogs, 2warthogs, birds etc) 420N$ for 2 people including the staff mentioned below.
Much as below. The pool is fantastic, so refreshing on a hot day. The owners are super friendly, he even came out to check on us campers after a torrential downpour and thunderstorm at night. They also have rooms available. We paid 420N$ for the first night (includes entrance fee to Quiver Tree Park and Giant's Playground) and 260N$ for the second night. Ablutions are clean, wood sold for 50N$ per pack. Beer and frozen meat for sale too.
Report Check-InNice campsite but almost no shade. 360degrees open air to watch the stars. Fantastic sight on thunder in the sky. Price now N$420 for two persons and the parks. Second day N$360.
Report Check-InWe were recommended to stay here in our way north. It was a bit out of town, but town is not much so was better. Stars are phenomenal out here. Each camp site has water and electricity and a braai. Wash up available and great hot showers. There were 4 cheetah when we were here and we enjoyed watching the feeding, though I am not sure I believe everything the owner said. Also a pet warthog who is such a character. Wood and drinks available at the reception. Not so busy so you have a lot to yourself! Love the spot
Report Check-InNice place but expensive. Ablutions are nice. Owner is friendly. He prefers Toyotas to Land Rovers but we didn't hold it against him.
Report Check-InLarge, open, sandy campground with some trees next to quivertree forest.Good clean ablutions. The owners have lots of animals including 4 cheetahs, a warthog and many dogs. Expensive. Visiting of the quivertree forest and the nearby Giants Playground is included in the fee. Walks or self-drives in the cheetah area must be paid for but watching them being fed is included.
NAD 340 (2 adults, camper)
Campground adjacent to the Quivertree forest. Camping fee included entry to the forest and the Giants playground as well as seeing the cheetah feeding. In all we paid 505 rand for 2 adults and 2 children.
Report Check-InUSD$35 (but this included watching cheetahs being fed and entry to the boulder strewn “Giant’s Playground” with its strange rock formations. Not a bad place to camp
