Description

Bargain possible: in off season originally Reales 34.80 / person plus 17,40 Reales / Caravan to 6 meters (ie 87 Reales ~ 33,50 Euros). Members of the Camping Clube do Brazil pay one-third of the fee. The ADAC card is not recognized in this camp as a membership card though. After a long discussion, we were able to negotiate the price to twice the Club price for us and the Club price for the camper. Electricity / water / dump and cable tv connection at site. The sites are paved and each has a small concrete patio. Simple but very clean bathrooms with hot showers. Just across the road from the long sandy beach of Praia do Macumba. At the traffic lights at S 23.03047 W 43.47996 approx 1.4 km from the campsite you can take bus 360, which goes directly to the center of Rio de Janeiro. It goes along the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana to the terminal of the church of Santo Antônio. The bus ride takes at least two hours and the rate was inofficially 2.95 Real / person. At the Copacabana you can change to the bus 583 to get to the train station to the Corcovado. Train ride and admission to the Corcovado with the famous Jesus statue cost 46 Real / person.

185 Reales in January 2024, a very unfriendly lady at the reception, the entrence gate broken - what shall I say?

Report Check-In

Gated camping with friendly host and many people monitoring driving and walking gates, feels safe. 38.50 R per person and per motorhome for non-members this time of year. No Wi-Fi, vivo cell coverage surprisingly poor, no kitchen, bathrooms older but functional and LOTS of cats will want to camp with you. There is a warm water tank for one shower at the facilities near the gates. Many long term or permanent setups. Seems like lots of people live there full time. Bike path in front along the beach is nice and goes for many kilometers. Amazing beaches and hiking nearby.

Too expensive, but safe. The toilets and showers are old. In front of the sea. Beware no drinking water filter, buy water first. No wifi. 1 hot shower.

We stay here 6 days with very big truck. 2 days living in the camping and 4 days in Rio (Uber from the camping to Centro 96 real) we paid a lot that right it is overpriced for non members but ... it is safe ! It’s a choice! They don’t have a lot of travellers like us and they don’t care ! No bargain ! Nice beach in front of good place if you don’t need services and you accept to pay for safety !

Report Check-In

absolutely overprised poorly maintained camping with dirty restrooms. Leaving tomorrow!

Report Check-In

By now this is definetly the most expensive camping on our whole 1.5 years trip through latinamerica. 74 R$ per adult and 55R$ for the camper (7m). No possibility to negociate a reduction. At least the kids 3 + 5 didn't pay...

Report Check-In

We found this place to be significantly overpriced for the services that are offered. The location (next to the beach and near the bus routes into Rio) is really what you are paying for here. We camped here one night and then left our van here while we went into Rio for a few days (got bus 360 at the waypoint listed below and took it to Ipanema.). Paid 117.60 Reais to camp in our van (2 adults, 1 child for one night) and 23.40 Reais per night to park our van here. Wifi is an extra charge that each visitor has to set up themselves by calling a phone number listed in the office. Water from the taps here is salty.
