emergency solution, because we didn't find anything else. In several places we were sent away because camping was not possible, or the site was occupied (Hotel Independencia). In the Club Andino we were finally allowed to park for one night in the parking lot. At night, the entrance was closed, so we stayed safe and quiet. In Punta Arenas there is a free trade zone (S 53.13371 W 70.87638). Good prices for Nescafe and German chocolate. If necessary, also a possibility to buy new tires. From here the ferry runs (S 53.12170 W 70.86792) once daily (except Mondays) across the Strait of Magellan to Porvenir (34,900 chil. Peso / car incl. Driver, 5.500 chil. Pesos / additional person).
