Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We were two smaller rigs and the camp site was basically full. It‘s hard to find an even spot. Toilets, sinks, bbq were ok, suicide shower not really warm and the electrical wiring is questionable. 50‘000pp. You can do a short hike directly from the campground. It‘s ok, but not really a blast. The next the we booked the Arroyo Morito hike. 13km with your own car, guide joins you, than a little round with the canoo on a lagunita, afterwards an easy and very informative hike (3km) back to the car. 55‘000pp. Not really cheap for PY standards, but we enjoyed it very much. Have seen some interessting bird live and footprints of jaguars, pumas, tapires etc. You could also book a tour through the native village, where they show you how to shot bow and arrow, but we don‘t like those touristic pseudo-realistic things, so we left that away. Very nice and helpful hosts. Road from Curuguaty is in great condition.
Report Check-InThis place is great, a lot of wild life, specially birds.
Road from Curuguaty is almost ready with new pavement (this next December will be finished), access road to the reserve is a 10km dusty bumpy road, but they try to keep it ok for any car type, wherever with heavy rain could be a little slippery.
With hot weather ask for a ride to Arroyo Moroti (20k guaraní pp) and enjoy a refreshing tiny sandy river beach in the middle of the forest.
Camping area is ok for medium size rigs, mine is 7mts long and still plenty of room to maneuver, terrain not very level, sink, showers and toilet brand new and super clean.
Staff is very helpfully and friendly, I did the trail with a guide from the local school and totally worth it, learned a lot of local traditions and plants usage, but they only speak Spanish and Guarani.
Report Check-Innice little camping. big rigs can park on the big grass field in front of the camping area. nice 3km sendero from camping. according to our guide book a lot of birds and animals in this park. we only saw a few birds. there is a guided tour 13km further in the park. we had a very uninterested guide, which cut our walk in half, because of some danger down the path. bees/wasps, our spanish was not good enough. also the cano tour on a very small lake was overpriced.
