A great place to boondock for the night in South Laguna Beach. We parked along the green chain link fence along Sunset Ave behind the hospital (near where it intersects with 8th St). Walk down 9th St to Thousand Steps Beach during the day for bathroom, shower, and a great time.

Arrived just before dusk, no one else around along whole road where hospital is, to not stand out I went down further where there is residential and other cars. Parked at the top. very quite, except it was a Friday night and some kids parked right behind me doing questionable things (would turn off light every time a car would go by). They left and was dark and peaceful. Morning had walkers and joggers go by. Was never bothered.
Report Check-InWonderful spot! I parked more west as previously suggested, just behind the hospital parking. It's perfectly flat and you get a great view to the ocean as a bonus. Very few car in the evening and morning and none in the night. Also no street lights, just some lights from the hospital parking, but still mostly dark. Definitely not recommended for bigger rigs.
Report Check-InSlept one night. Slight slope but easy to level off. Very dark and quiet road. Maybe 3-4 cars all night.

Report Check-Inoverall good spot.. we parked in the flatter area further down as suggested previously.. also worth mentioning that it’s a tight, winding, single lane road with a steep incline, so a little tricky getting there in a longer vehicle.

Great, quiet, free! Keep lights off etc but not directly in front of any houses. Stayed one night.
