The sign is up that says no overnight camping. We drove back in there and it looks pretty cool but did not want to take the chance we’d get told to leave in the middle of the night.
Report Check-InIt is Nebraska State Park, so theres that state rec fee. A box on ur way in where u pay. There are few spots in the area. I only saw one area with porter john and a dumpster. The rest is primitive no amenities. Make sure bring everything u need. We always bring our shower tent and portapotty. And water. If the visible area where porter johns are full drive a bit further and explore but the further u get the road gets really sandy, make sure ur prepared. It is worth it though
Report Check-InBe careful with the sand if you want to park in front of the water. Our 2rwd van got stuck in it, we had to winch ourselves out. We parked on the field right behind the trees, right before the sand starts.
Was a pretty nice place with a nice view. We didn't end up staying there because we got an amber alert for an approaching storm with 75mph winds and expected hail and tree damage. This spot was right in the danger area so we decided to get out of there. Other than that, definitely would have stayed there.
We spent the night there and it is a beautiful site, however I believe current COVID restrictions have turned this into a day use site only.
Report Check-InJust passing through in an RV and spent the night at a primitive spot along the lake. Lots of different options. A bit of a tight fit and rough road for an RV but it worked! Nobody bothered us, we arrived late around 9pm and left around 8am.
