Description

Big Parking compound. Fenced with a muffler shop in the front, a lot of roofed monthly parking spots and a green patch in the back.
Stayed over night for a muffler fabrication.
The owner "Wilber" is a nice guy. Safe spot with high fence and wall, gate closes at 11pm, night guard.
Close to the center, cheap and even has some simple facilities. The owner and night guard is a lovely guy, as well as the persons that are there during the day. the toilet door was broken so there is a piece of metal you can put It front, no flush. Shower didn't work but you can take a bucket and fill it with water. We washed ourselves at night and use the water during the day too cool ourselves (Léon is HOT these months).

Good place for parking (for the night or just for the day) in Leon. Very quiet at night. Of course hot, because it is a hot city… but nothing unmanageable during these days (stayed 2). You can also park in the shade if you don‘t need solar.

Some truckers coming and going or working on their cars. Everybody very nice. Felt very safe.

Everything in walking distance (city, Pali, etc)

Could also use the water taps :)

50C per vehicle per night.

Enjoy :)

PS: Don‘t miss walking barefoot on the white roof of the cathedral! Best time is around 4ish pm! Great light, great view, not too hot anymore and somehow a very magical feeling to walk there.

Stayed here for three nights while we explored León. Paid 50 Cordobas/night. As mentioned not the nicest campspot, but we had no problem getting to it, it’s conveniently located to walk to the center of town and it was surprisingly quiet at night. Starting around 5am earplugs were needed.

Report Check-In

Run down car park but safe and close to city center. Sanitary facilities are defective and are not being repaired and are therefore no longer offered. Accessible to any size vehicle. We paid 50 Cordoba/night.

this place seems the only one for bigger rigs, dusty, but for town visit the best, 800m walk, at night very quite, noise starts at 5am, 50Cor per night, gate closed at 9pm.

Stayed here for a night. Juan showed up at night and I paid him 50c. It was nice and quiet. The walk to centro is about 15 min. All other comments are still true.

Note still 50 per night we paid two night for 100 C and leave the car park here all day while exploring g the city

Report Check-In

We stayed two nights at this parking lot. Very decent spot after spending a night on the street and see all the homeless just wandering around at midnight we moved to this location and pass two nights while exploring the city

Report Check-In

It is not the dream spot, but it has the merit of being calm and next to the city center. Always 50c per night. As much as day Leon is very beautiful, but at night there are weird people hanging around.

Report Check-In

Officially the worst showers and toilet in 2 yrs of travel but it was secure and close to what we wanted to see and do. There’s a very lonely dog that whines and bark non- stop but eventually falls asleep at night so you can get a good sleep. We filled with water here too. A great deal for 50C per night.

Report Check-In

Perfect place, near the center. 50C$ per night.

Report Check-In

Perfect place to sleep and park your van when you visit Leon ! Still 50c per night.
Less than 10 minutes by foot to the center and very easy to access with any kind of vehicle.
We ask the owner if we could fill up our water tank and he agreed. So nice !
Didn’t try the toilet and “shower”.

A good, safe and quiet spot to camp in your car and visit the lovely town of Leon. Still 50 NIOs per night. Nice guard. Just 800m to the cathedral and town center.

Still 50C for the night. Very quiet and well located. Everything is done on foot. The convenience store next door sells drinking water for 84C. We even left the van here, hooked up to electricity to visit the city the next day.

Report Check-In

Easy and cheap. The guy seemed used to receiving overlanders wanting to sleep there. 50c/night.
Gates closed between 11pm and 4.30am.

Report Check-In

Nothing fancy but walking distance to the center and cheap! 50 Cordoba per night and they let us park under one of the roofs during the day so our son can nap inside the van. Leon was extremely hot and humid... Walked back from the center twice after sunset and felt safe... Gates lock at 11PM.
Water spigot with extremely low pressure...

Very large and accessible parking for high vehicles (3 meters). We paid 70c for the first night. For the second night we did not pay to the same person and this one asked us 50 c. Very quiet at night. 5-10 minutes walk from the city center of Léon. Great for visiting the city. Drinking water on site. The staff is friendly.

We rolled up at Juan's shop at 8pm after a long day crossing Honduras and Nicaragua borders. It's not flash but perfectly located near the centre, safe and all the men onsite are lovely.
We used the shower (was working) and the toilet (flush with a bucket of water).
recommend for a night or two!

We got our exhaust pipe welded for 350 Cordobas, it was done on the spot.
We paid C70 for the overnight parking, no security guard just the caretaker. it was a quite night, the gate was locked from 11pm to 4.30 am

Report Check-In

Good location near city centre. Not sure we would have fit anywhere else in town with our truck camper. Toilet and cold shower(didn't use shower). 100 Cordoba for one night.

Report Check-In

Price is now 100 cordobas per night. Good place to sleep and walk to the city center.

Report Check-In

Good place for a night. 60 Cordobas for a motorhome with 2 people. Tents and pets are welcome also.

Report Check-In

we spent here one night in our way to Honduras. they charge us 50C for the night and another 20C for leave at 11 in the morning. it was not the price that we expect but still cheap. the night was quite and felt secure.

Report Check-In

Aa described, lots of animal noise, normal chickens etc at night and we woke early when the school bus left. Very secure, you have to be back before they close gates for the night at 11pm or else you get locked out. We paid 50 cdbs for 1 night. The owner explained he's hoping to have more Overlanders so that he can put in toilet and shower facilities. Space for large rigs

Report Check-In

We stayed here 3 nights. Wilbur and his staff were very receptive to having overlanders stay and Wilbur (the owner) would like to have more travellers stay. He told us he has plans to use the lot that he owns next door to expand this idea one day. During the day the guys who work in the muffler shop are there and then late afternoon the overnight guy arrives (Juan, I think). The gates close at 11pm and open at 4am for a bus to leave.
There are no facilities, but there is a tap and hose for water/shower (I’m assuming non potable).
We were only charged 50C/ night by the night guard, which seemed way too cheap so I gave him a tip too.
It was very quiet and safe. I would recommend. There are 3 friendly bunnies there which roam loose and like carrots.

The owner "Wilber" is a nice guy. He liked the idea of a campground for overlanders and said power could be provided! Save spot with high fence and wall, gate closes at 10pm, Nightguard! The city centre is in walking distance! I mentioned $5 would be a normal price to charge. ;)
