Description

Nice simple rooms with porches centered around a very pleasant garden with fruit trees and potted plants. Official room rates start at 2500.
Very friendly and informative owner used to run Madina 1 in the bazaar area, but switched to this nicer setting. He’s planning to add dorm rooms next door, if more travellers come, inshallah. Could do laundry at his house nextdoor.
There is a secure parking area closed off by a gate next to the garden with space for 2-3 cars where we were allowed to sleep in the rooftoptent. Road is just behind the gate, but fairly quiet at night. There is a common squat toilet and we were allowed to use a hot shower in one of the (used) rooms.
Electricity (thus also hot water and wifi) is on and off, because it is Pakistan after all.

Great one night stay and was tempted to stay another but because of our tight schedule after getting in China for a week, we only can stay a night. The former owner, Yaqoob, sold the hotel 4 months ago but he still goes here. Yaqoob told us he still come here to help the staff and teach them the ropes of hotel management.

The staff the friendly, hot water on off due to power outage but there was hot shower when we stayed. Clean white sheets, comfortable beds. Nice location if you want to go to the market.

Overall a nice stay and for sure recommends it to anyone who is need of an accommodation in Gilgit.

Spent one night in this great hotel. The garden is just amazing. We had both dinner and breakfast and, like all Pakistani food, it's delicious. The owner and his team are hospitable, and helped us out with a repair on the moto.

I was here a second and a third time. All together more than 10 nights. That times the shower was really hot. Stuff still very friendly and helpful. Totally can recommend this place.

The owner is very friendly and helped me to go to a car whelder and Organise a new sim card. The stuff is very friendly too. I will come back again.
The shower temperature was not cold but cool. The bathroom was really clean. And they give towels :)

Stayed here twice in Nov 2021 while on my way to Hunza and after Hunza. Paid Rs2000 per night. The room is comfy & carpeted. Hot shower & wifi works fine. The owner Mr Ayoub is a very good host.

Clean and comfortable rooms. We paid 2000 a night for a double room. Both western and squat toilets. Hot water showers - although the hot water is temperamental. WiFi better the closer to reception you are. Secure off street parking -you can also stay in your car on the driveway if you want to. Electrical hook up possible. Lovely garden area. Restaurant with a range of food available - the daal is very good, as is the veggie spaghetti. Multiple vegetarian options. They will first serve you tap water in a bottle so make sure to double check it’s bottled water if you are not drinking the local water.

What really makes this the best place to stay is Yaqoob, the manager. He is an absolute delight, so interesting to chat with, and will do all he can to ensure you have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. He walked round Gilgit with us for 3 hours trying to help us find a wheel nut for our Land Rover. We stayed for Eid (Islamic holiday) and they cooked a big lunch and dinner for all of the guests (for free). Yaqoob has been managing the Madina guesthouses for over 30 years and he is so happy that tourism is on the increase again after many years of very few western tourists in this area.

A nice courtyard based hotel with a pretty garden in the centre. It has a limited but tasty restaurant too. Istayed in the newly opened dorm for 800 per night.
The owner is a very nice man who has run various iterations of the madina hotel in Gilgit for many years.

Got a 2 bed room for 1500. Simple but perfect for what we needed. Wifi is slow but at least there is some kind of connection.

The owner is really nice and goes out of his way to help you out

Great place to stay and relax! When we arrived here the place was fully booked but the owner offered us some tea and we could camp at the parking for free and make use of the squad toilet outside. In return we offered to have dinner and breakfast here. The food was good and we could even enjoy our meals in the nice garden!
