There is a perfect parking area at the entrance gate to the Samburu NP. Very friendly rangers allowed us to camp even we told them that we don't visit the park the next day. Very quiet and of course very save.

Even though we arrived in the afternoon they allowed us to park at the gate. The staff is very welcoming. You can only pay in cash in shillings or dollars.
Park fee per person $ 70 a day. We took a safari for the morning and afternoon $ 100
It was after 8PM when we showed up and the ranger, Sammy, was happy to let us stay. He opened up the gate and let us park on the inside and turned on the water to the bathroom. We tipped him 500ksh for letting us camp here since it was after dark when we showed up.
Flat area underneath some trees and toilet area near by. Very safe. Perfect for a night of camping.
