This is an amazing place as mentioned many times before. Samuel is an angel, he loves taking care of his campers. We spent two nights here and surely would have stayed much much longer if we wouldn’t have booked a flight to Galapagos the next day.

We stayed at this very nice and tidy place with our truck. Samuel is a really nice host and we enjoyed it there. Big quincho with lots of tables and seats to sit and eat and have a cold beer. Beautiful and well equipped commun kitchen. Fast WiFi, clean toilets and showers, beautiful garden. Also 220V electricity. 6$ ppn. Enjoy!

This place is not closed. Sämi was in August in Switzerland. Since the 5 September he is back and Jardin Suizo is open.
It is a very nice and friendly place and Sämi is very helpful.

Everything is as described. Clean, nice, Samuel is great and very helpful. There is also big equipped kitchen you can use for free. Bus to Puerto López every 30min, modern, cheap. Recommended.

I spent 4 nights at Sämi. I was allowed to sleep under the roof with my tent. with own shower and toilet. everything super clean. with kitchen and drinks in the fridge at fair prices. sämi is a gifted host and fulfills every wish of his guests. if you are lucky, you will enjoy his excellent fruit salad.

Nice place to stay. Samuel has a comunal full equipped kitchen, a open space where you can rest and talk with him or othe travelers, habe your breakfast...
Nice clean toilets and warm shower, very good internet.
Easy and save access to the beach where you are alone most of the time.

it's still open. he has rooms too. $15. they're good, spacious, good wifi, hot shower, no ac, but the rooms actually stay pretty cool due to the construction. secure with gate and his 2 dogs. pet friendly. he actually went out of his way on this and tied up his dogs when they misbehaved and were aggressive with mine.

very peaceful, beach just across the street, it's super relaxed here.

Great place to stay, honestly! Samuel welcomes you with a open heart. Great infrastructure with a good, almost swiss standard, kitchen. Hottest shower ever! If you want to eat in a good restaurant ask Samuel.

a very nice place inbetween Samuel's garden. it is a good spot to relax, walk at the beach or have a great chat with Samuel. He is a good man, makes us feel like at home and everything is very clean. To recommend!

The place is still open. He was selling another piece of land, which he has sold in the meantime.
We stayed 2 nights and felt very welcomed. Samuel is a really nice guy. Bathrooms, showers and the kitchen were clean. There is even an oven. Wifi reaches the car but is unreliable.
Please note that Samuel will be in Switzerland from 10th of July to mid August 2022. During this time the campground is closed.

the campsite is still open despite the sign for sale. We stayed there for two nights. Samuel is always available and does everything to make the stay pleasant. do not hesitate to contact him by WhatsApp at 0980130373 and honk in front of the gate. the campsite is very close to the ocean but the beach for swimming is 800 meters away. the price is $6 per day per person. no lavender on site but Samuel takes care of everything. Very good step.

It was an excelent time, Samuel is a great host and he is always available for help you in whatever you need. The property its huge and you can go UP to the top House and you will have an amazing view of the coast and the little Town of Puerto Cayo.
You can talk a lot with Samuel if you want to, he is very kind, he likes to tell and hear memories.
Everything is clean, nice and ready for you to use it.
100% recommend.

According to the official information from Samuel (the owner) will be this camp closed for two moths.
We can recommend this place when it is available again, it is wonderful here. Clean and hot showers, perfect kitchen and beautiful garden. Very calm with two friendly dogs. Beach is 50 meters.

We stayed 8 nights and enjoyed the relaxing time there. Sämi organized a private wal watching trip with a local fisherman (50 US$, 2h, 2 people). Although its were already late for that, we have never seen wals that close (see fotos). So high season (June to August) must be awesome!
The crispy bread and the langostinos (1kg for 10 US$) were delicious. Sämi sells chilled beers and soft drinks also.

We arrived on sunday and the owner was not in town. After we called Samuel his neighbor opened the gate for us and showed us the place.
It is a beautiful place and Samuel has a lot of interesting stories to tell. We enjoyed the time here a lot.

Sam is a true gentleman, such a wonderful character. He has a beautiful plot which is so relaxing. He may have raised the entrance height but there is still a waterpipe to negotiate to get to the parking spot. At 3.75m we managed to slip in. There's not much to the town itself, 40 minute bus ride to Puerto Lopez. We came for one night and stayed four. Cold showers but they were clean. Friendly dogs.

This is a very, very beautiful and relaxed place for spending a good time. Samuel is super welcoming, warmhearted and open. We had a good time with him, sharing experiences and stories. His dogs are amazingly lovely. We enjoyed our stay here!
Everything is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is equipped perfectly. Samuel's garden is a little paradise and he was happy to share is knowledge about the plants with us.
The beach of Puerto Cayo is huge and really beautiful. 100% recommended.

Friendly owner Samuel is quite a character (travelled a lot, lots of stories he can tell) and he likes to receive overlanders, offers space for any size rig now (entrance gate has been modified so that now all vehicles up to 4.4 meters can fit!)
Price is $6 pppn, all services included.
Electricity, toilet (flush, could be cleaner), shower (1x cold, 1x lukewarm), wifi, kitchen and restaurant area can be used by everyone.

An awesome paradise for all travellers and especially for overlanders. In all those years Samy doesn’t seem to have lost one bit of his „swissness“, he maintains his place perfectly. He’s got every facility available that you‘ll need, nice and clean (there‘s also 220V electricity). We won‘t forget the fresh buns in the morning, just delicious! Don‘t miss the walk through the beautiful garden with Samy, he knows a lot about his plants.
If the weather had been better, we would have stayed for a veeeeeery long time. Samy is just a lovely host who cares for his guests as much as he can.

The campground has everything that you need. Very nice. We paid $5 USD p/p because the shower of warm water had been damaged. It usually the price is $6 USD p/p

Great spot and Samuel is an amazing guy, has some of the most amazing stories. The new price will be $6 pp a night with WiFi and hot showers. Planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 6 days. Beach is across the street and there is usually no one around. Cheap food in town, $5 dollar fish meals and $1.50 beers. Great spot and much better than Puerto Lopez. If you go to Isla de la plata, use the Adventuras Plata company off season price was $35 and provided lunch and snorkel.

We were not lucky here, the owner was not at the place and the person in charge didn’t want to let us in as he said he needed authorization from the owner to let overlanders in. Probably it will be better to call him first or make a reservation?

Samuel is back and welcoming overlanders! There were 2 other overlanders there with us that night. Shower was not that great but better than a cold one and I got bit up by no-see-ums. Nice place to stay, Sam is a great guy.

Wow! What a fantastic place! Samuel is the “happy host”/owner. He has truly made a paradise of his property here! Beautiful grounds with well maintained facilities! The entire grounds are covered in gorgeous flora which Samuel loves to give tours of, explaining about the different plants. This place is less than a block from the beach and a five minute walk to the small town center where there are a few tiendas. Samuels place includes a spectacular covered mirador complete with hammocks and a great view of the ocean There is a restaurant onsite that offers cold beer and a fantastic breakfast every morning for $5. Samuel also offers use of his big kitchen to travelers. The bathrooms are clean with toilet seats and toilet paper and a warm shower. Also- Good reliable WiFi! Many overlanders stop here and Samuel takes photos of them all. We had great fun looking through the photos finding the familiar faces of people we knew!

All of your comments are fair ! Samuel is really nice and very helpful. He showed us all of his plants, was very interesting! we put the tent under the roof with a view on the sea (5$pp) and we had a hot shower and could cook in the big kitchen.
the breakfast, for 5$pp is the best we had in south america : lots of bread, lots of scrambled eggs, lots of fresh different fruits, cheese (delicious camembert), ham, marmelade and good coffee.
we highly recommand this place !!

We spent 5 days here in Samuel's place.
This place is really beautiful and Samuel is such an amazing person!
When we arrived we made a tour with him on the garden, we explained us all the plants.
Everything is so clean, you can cook on the big kitchen. He offers us amazing fruits and we really spent a nice time with him.
We also surfed on the beach, its good for beginners. You can rent some board in the village.

awesome spot and wonderful host. Sam is a great guy and he’s built a lovely spot. great common area. nice parking for even big vehicles. 11O and 220 power at sites and a hose nearby. big kitchen with oven and 2 sinks. wonderful bread rolls each morning for $0.10/ each. the beach is across the road. decent for boogie boarding or beginner surfing. we had it completely to ourselves.

i got a decent electric shock from the “death shower” but i think he fixed it.

paid $13/night for 2 adults, 2 kids, and a dog in our van.

BRING a hat to donate :)

Sehr schöner Platz auf der dem Pazifik gegeüberliegenden Straßenseite. Sehr ruhig mit Gemeinschaftsküche, Waschgelegenheit, Bar mit Selbstbedienung etc. Samuel, der Betreiber ist gerne bereit auf individuelle Bedürfnisse (Frühstück etc.) einzugehen.
Gutes Internet. Top für Motorradfahrer oder auch Fahrer von Campern.

Awesome place. Rooftop camping available for $5pp if you have freestanding tent. Plenty of places for campers or larger vehicles. Great view from the top of the building, kitchen, toilet upstairs and downstairs, cold shower upstairs and downstairs, warm shower downstairs, great seating area downstairs and honesty beer fridge. Samuel is a great guy and even offered us some soup on arrival. If you want to stay in a room it's $15pp. About 10min walk into the village which has 3 small grocery shops and a few restaurants. Samuel has now also started taking work-away-ers so contact him in advance if you're interested (mainly gardening). I took a pic of his card with contact details so it's in the photos section. Wifi.

A sanctuary of trees and plants a stone throw away from the ocean. However, what really gives character to this place is the host Samuell. Go visit and be humbled. Be well, Samuel!

Note: if your vehicle is over 3.30, which is the height of the gate, Samuel will arrange for you to stay across the road and still use his facilities.

Perfect place to stay some nights after wild camping at the beaches. Samuel's place has all you need: hot/warm shower, clean bathrooms, a Kitchen, Electricity (110 and 220 V) beer ;-) and good WiFi. Recommended stay!

Really amazing! All facilities as described, and even better than you would expect. That kitchen... Wow! There is an oven and all! Sam is a deadset legend (that's my Australian way of saying he is awesome). He took us through the garden and up to the Mirador for the sunset. He also offered for us to leave our car here (for free) when we go to the galapagos (which we would have done happily if it fit our plans).

There are two showers - one hot (electric head) and one cold, depending on the weather.

Various delivery trucks (bread, vegetables, fruit, etc) come by often and if you let Sam know he will make sure you don't miss them.

Absolutely recommend this place - you won't want to leave!

Excellent kitchen, laundry (service or manual), temperamental wifi, 110/220 V, restaurant serves breakfast only (USD 5). Water from village grid. 15 minutes walk from village. This is a very pleasant, comfortable, and quiet place Samuel has created. We stayed two weeks. Entry gate is 3.45 m tall, some big rigs may not fit. Samuel also offers rooms with private bath for $15 per person per night; a complete breakfast costs $5 per person.

The owner (Sämi) is back at jardin suizo. We had a very nice stay there! He showed us around and made us coffee and sandwiches for our long car ride the next day! Toilets are clean, showers cold though Sämi is thinking of installing a water heater. Payed $5 pp.

very nice place and a paradis for plant lovers. this place has 4 rooms with hot shower for rent, and right now samuel staret to expend his place that he can take up to 4 RV,s. but not higher then 3,50 meter. everthing is in good shape. there is good wifi and power. peoples with tent are also welcome. you should visit this place if you are at the coast. attention: from 27.8.2015 to 30.9.2015 the place is closed !

BEST PLACE after 10 month on the road in Southamerica...Sämi, the Swiss owner, is very friendly and helpful...and offers a great hospitality with EVERYTHING you need!!!Good for big rigs, also great for tents and he has also rooms available...check also the pictures out!!!he has also a very clean kitchen to use and also the clean bathrooms are in a very good shape...the whole area is in a great condition and Sämi is still prepare more for the travellers...JUST MUST GO THERE!!!

Nice small hosteria in a huge beautiful garden with over 200 different plants. Run by Samuel a very friendly Swiss - speaks German, English and Spanish and knows the area very well. Very clean and new restrooms. Place is arranged with love to small details. Breakfast with everything available for 5 USD. Power from the house available. Surf beach just across street.
