Nice and quiet beach. We slept behind the church close to the laguna, by this way we were quiet. At nightfall we saw 2 pairs of crocodile eyes. We slept well lulled by the waves of the Pacific. To come here you have to follow the signs "Playa". Be careful there are low branches, our 2.5m camper was rubbing, the climb is tough. Sunrise and sunset are wonderful!

Lovely spot, I think is is being expanded so there is now plenty of level parking out by the lagoon. Half built buildings around but hardly anyone came by. AT&T/Telcel/Altan internet isn't amazing but it is there. Road is ok, might be difficult when wet.

i was questioning my decisions driving my big rig (24') though the windy turns, sandy road, through the river and hitting low hanging trees... especially as i didnt have service. but after getting to this beautiful playa with the shade hut and having good service its definitely worth it!

if you have a bigger rig id only come here if you plan on staying a while.
its a great spot as there isnt much privacy/options in Mazunte

Loved this spot! The trickiest part of the road is the last stretch down to the beach, it’s a bit rutted and rough but tiny cars were coming down so any car can do it. There is a big house down here now used as an Airbnb (Casa Obe), but still hardly anyone around, we tucked our van around the corner from the church and spent 4 nights. Saw at least 4-5 crocodiles in the lake, and great sunsets from the church! There’s a huge unused palapa you can hang out in for shade as well. The beach is a bit rough for swimming but if you walk about 10 mins along the beach there is a swimmable bay that’s a lot of fun. Would definitely come back here!

Amazing place, highly recommend it. The road in has all been fixed and the steep winding part is now cement and easy to drive.
The locals recently cleaned up the area and painted the little church on the hill. Everyone is really friendly and the man building the big house next to the camp area let us fill a bucket with fresh water to shower.
Be sure to check out the lake in the morning and evening for crocodiles we got the best view from beside the church.
Also the dog is still here, his name is Terry and is owned but like the previous post said he will sleep outside your van and be super cute and eat food you give him.
The locals warned us about the ocean current and said it was dangerous to swim here so we never tried.
Please take your garbage with you and help keep this as beautiful as we found it.

We had one lovely night here at this beautiful beach. All of the locals were super friendly and upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely doggy barking with excitement! We got out the van and he stayed with us the whole time, even sleeping outside. We assume he is a stray as he is a little skinny. If we could take him with us we would, he was so loving and so well behaved. If your looking to adopt a dog consider him! Or just give him a little bit of love and food on your visit - we named him tiger! Pictured attached.

people come here with Chevy Chevy's, so no 4x4 and high clearance needed!
people come here for phone connection, the church and fishing. but not even crowded on the weekend. it's very quiet all day! friendly locals.
the access is on a good dirt road, one part is steep, but doable!! dont follow your maps me route. go straight when maps me want to follow the north side of the river. you have to cross the bridge and than you're almost there.
a big palapa for shade.
very nice place, we stayed here the second time.
highly recommended
