Description

Baja Voyager / Powerhouse is a one-stop shop for overlanders. The owner Juan Carlos and Julio from his team, can take care of literally everything you may need in Baja.

We got new springs added to our truck here and welding to reinforce our frame. There was a truck getting a fuel pump and shocks replaced here as well. If you need a paint shop, glass shop, pretty much anything this is the place to go.
He also gave us tons of insight on places to go and see all throughout Baja, their primary business provides race support for Baja 1000 racers so they have the entire peninsula memorized.
More than just a mechanic shop, Baja Voyager has a bar, hot showers, and even beds. You can also camp in your vehicle here while it is being worked on. Fast wifi and conveniently located near some great taco/tamale stands.

They also provide logistics for shipping/locating hard-to-find parts. Juan has connections all over Baja and is the man to call if you ever get in a jam. Juan and Julio both speak very good English. Prices for service are great as well.

Tell him James sent you and he will take good care of you!

We're traveling for a year and our VW van needed a regular check up (oil and oil filter change). The official VW couldn't do it. Baja Powerhouse helped us out and did a fantastic job. We did not have an appointment and they started to work on our van immediately. The communication is great and they really think along with you to find the right solution. I would highly recommend Powerhouse if you're looking for a machanic/garage.

On our first day getting into Baja my alternator went out. Really put a damper on things. Found Baja Voyager and called Juan Carlos. He picked up and was over with a mechanic and a battery in 2 hours. We followed him to his shop where they set us up with a spot and he gave us the tour. A fully stocked bar, super clean showers and bathrooms and even bunks to sleep, they have this place fully set up.

We camped in our vehicle along with a couple of other people doing the same. In the evening we've got to have drinks with Juan and his family while around a camp fire and by the end of the next day the new alternator and a rebuilt starter were in and the truck was ready to go.

Not only did Juan help us get back up and running, he also made the experience amazing. We are so appreciative to him and his family for their hospitality and hope to see them again in the future.

he gave me a number to a mechanic down south in save anything comes up and recommendations on things to do. oh also the prices are very reasonable. this is a must if your going thru here and need some help.

**** edit// 3 weeks later breaks are dead and are so much noisy... as never in 5 years. Don't know what to think about this situation and if I would recommend them. /// Nice people great service BUT you can't be in a hurry if you decide to get your car fixed here. Day 1: we arrive at 3PM for à check up. We decide to change breaks, tie rod, front suspension and oil. They order the parts. We sleep here. Day 2 : get the parts at 10AM. Couldn't finish the work in the same day. Second night. Day 3: starts the work at 10h30 AM and we are done by 3PM. 48 hours total. Great Wi-Fi, hot shower, clean toilets. For 35$US/person (breakfast included) you can sleep in a bungalow but there is a cheaper hôtel in front of the garage.

Baja voyager organizes tours and assists rally teams. They have a nice mecanic team and a clean shop for this business. They also can do some repairs on RV. We had a bad experience there because of misanderstanding and bad luck. We recomend to deal only with Juan-Carlos, the boss and ask for a writen quote before starting anythink. The hour rate is 35 USD.

Best shop in Baja, better than most US shops and far less expensive. The owner speaks perfect English and his mechanics are amazing. They also have showers and bunks if you need to stay overnight. They take care of emergencies and planned upgrades. Juan Carlos treats you like family and eases the stress of being broke down.

The entrance was a bit tricky for me to find, it's a locked gate next to a breakfast stand. Follow the GPS coordinates and you'll be fine.

Waystation/repair/upgrade/rescue shop owned by a great guy who loves Baja as much as we do, and will do whatever it takes to help out someone in need.

Came here to get shocks, springs and brake pads done on my truck. I had the parts. They provided labor. They were extremely friendly. There’s a waiting room with comfortable couches and cable tv if you choose to wait. The bathrooms are spotless - I wish I needed to poop. I probably won’t find bathrooms this clean for weeks again. If you need to, you can also shower here. Highly recommend this place.
