Nice big parking near to the beach in Puerto Piramides. Beautiful view but no wind protection. Near to the restaurants and shops. There is information about wifi spot around 80m area, but when we was it wasn’t working. Very safe.
Most likely not suitable for tents due to rough underground.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Now there are entry gates and its maybe only 2 meters high so not more possible for RV’s.
We sleept with our RV in front of this gates and nobody bothered us.
Maybe in high season its not possible .
The campground near by was closed.
we slept here a few nights like 3-4 other campervans. the policemen came every evenings but didn't say anything. it might not be allowed but I guess if you act low profile, it's OK...
Report Check-InFROM 12/20/2023 FREE CAMPING IS PROHIBITED!!! NO PLACE ABLE TO STAY THE NIGHT, PARK GUARD AND POLICE DO NOT ALLOW IT. IF YOU ALLOW CARS WITH LOUD MUSIC, HOTELS AND CABINS THAT POLLUTE. ONLY CAMPING IS EXPENSIVE AND LACK OF MAINTENANCE. ALMOST DUSTY GRAVEL ROADS, NOT SUITABLE FOR MEDIUM AND LARGE MOTORHOMES. IF THIS CHANGES PLEASE REPORT IT. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Report Check-InWe spent several nights here, very quiet and safe. It was full of motorhomes, there is no protection from the wind and sometimes at night it moves a lot. It is a very difficult town to get water.
Report Check-InBest “wild-camping” place in Argentina so far!
We spent 3 days here, seeing whales from the shore every day.
Windy, but depending on the direction you can hide from it, the first night we were in between two vehicles larger than ours.
No amenities whatsoever, but some places with toilets close by.
Very quiet and feels very safe!
Would definitely recommend!
Report Check-InNice place to sleep on the peninsula. Off season we were alone there, a bit windy. Saw whales and pingouins at the beach.
Report Check-InThe only allowed place to stay overnight, advised by the tourist bureau in town, as the camping was closed! Lovely place but no wind protection whatsoever, very exposed.
Report Check-InWe spend two nights here even if it seems to be prohibited for campers. some others camping car there. great view, but windy
Report Check-InFree spot, lots of campers in a parking. Good internet in this town (Movistar & Claro). YPF has a bathroom close by. Nice walk on the beach with friendly dogs for ours to run around with. Cute little town with friendly people.
Report Check-InAmazing place to stay the night. Theoretically you should stay on the Camping but we didn't even enter as this place is the perfect spot. Right by the shore with the best view in the city. Other Motorhomes staying there as well. The gates were open and nobody was controlling the parking places.
Best place to stay on this amazing city!
nice, big and flat parking in front of the beach and sea. beautiful place and beautiful sunsets. it was very quiet a night, although there were other overlanders the two nights we spent there.
beautiful place, very nice view, surely leave the motorhome and take a walk. we were many spending the night there
VERY windy, no facilities, but ok for a night. Several camper vans and motorhomes there, this is the „official unofficial“ campsite and the ONLY alternative to the municipal campground. So, if you are completely self-contained, this is a nice place.
Report Check-InBeautiful place next to the water, beach, 2small bars, place for many rv-s, there were also tents on the parking place. Windy but great! Do not miss it. FREE
Report Check-Inwhat a stunning view, especially during sunset. Some foodtrucks during the day. BUT very busy with big campers during January, so bit noisy at night.
Report Check-InAt the tourist center they told us that the camping place (6000 pesos and not good) in town is full, but we can park for free at this tolerated camping space. Lots of dogs on the beach, which was good for us and our four-legged friend, we were here on the weekend and had loud music and lots of traffic till the early morning hours. Right on the beach and beautiful. There is potable water up the road about 1km in the front yard of a house (blue hose).
Report Check-InFriends, what a spectacular place! Free! Several motorhomes on site. Amazing scenery, beautiful sunset too. We only spent one night, it was very quiet.
Amigos, que lugar espetacular! Gratuito! Vários motorhomes no local. Cenário incrível, por do sol lindo demais. Passamos apenas uma noite, foi muito tranquila.
Report Check-InIn this parking lot you can spend the night for free.
Report Check-InLugar tranquilo e seguro.
Report Check-InPassamos 3 noites aqui.
Report Check-InSuper quiet place to spend the night. As we are out of the summer season there is no food truck open so we were alone here during two nights. We use the gas station bathroom, but there are no showers.
Report Check-Inits a nice place by the beach. in the evening was a live band by the food truck.
we have not found a toilet. litl bit windy.
Good for all rigs. Big free parking zone
Quiet place to sleep. In theory, motorhomes and big trucks are no allowed
Report Check-InVery safe place to spend the night. We stayed 5 days at this place. On Saturday alone, city hall inspectors charged $250 pesos for parking. There is no structure nearby and it is a bit noisy at night, because of the food trucks nearby.
Lugar muito seguro para passar a noite. Ficamos 5 dias nesse lugar.
Report Check-InWe came here because the established camping was full at 1400 on a Thursday! This option was recommended by a worker at the established campground. Several other RVs here. Beautiful view but no wind protection - not suitable for tents. We had good wifi here using our phone as hotspot.
Report Check-InAmazing sunset from here!
There were anothers RV’s overnighting here, but at 10pm everybody got into their vehicles and everything got really peaceful!
We really enjoyed this place ♥
Report Check-InThere is a sign saying it isn’t allowed Motorhomes to stay overnight, but I talked with the very friendly guys in the Prefectura, which is the last brick house before the parking saying the camping was full (which was crowded but not full) and the guys said me that was fine to park there and stay overnight. Three motorhome slept there that night. The sunset is amazing there.
Report Check-Invery quiet parking near the beach the last one is autorised for camper van. be carefull when the sea is hight a good part of the parking is under the water.
Report Check-InThis place is „semi-legal”. At the visitor information center the ranger told us, that Puerto Pirámides is the only place in the park, where overnight stays are allowed. She said as well, that we don’t have to go to the camping since we’re travelling with a self contained RV and that we could go to the parking. This is the only parking lot we found in the town. There is a sign, that motorhomes and trailers are not allowed. However, police and rangers drove by (and clearly must have seen our rig) and didn’t say anything. This might be different during high season. We stayed 2 nights and except a few motorhomes, the site was empty.
Report Check-InThere is a sign which says no motorhomes, but we stayed there for three nights without any problems. Even the wind was not too bad.
Report Check-Inlugar seguro e tranquilo...E possível avistar baleias...gratidaonabagaem
Report Check-Inwe stayed two nights
beautiful place, but no shelter from Wind.
toiletes in hight season.
no more facilities
Very nice beach, but was quite busy, when we were there. Many people walked, drove with their motorbikes past during the bight. At some point they even had music in the cars. But there are chemical toilets on the beach and the view is really beautiful.
Report Check-InNice big parking near to the beach in Puerto Piramides. Beautifull view but no wind protection. Near to the restaurants and shops. There is information about wifi spot around 80m area, but whene we was it wasn’t working. Very safe. Next to the parking is travel company name Jorge Schmid, very nice people. We had amazing trip with them seeing whales and sea lions.
