Description

*Overnight camping/parking is NOT available at this location.
.....
We found this to be a good site for a few days stay in Santa Cruz. Next to a popular climbing gym, a coffee shop and a brewery. Brewery has bathrooms, climbing gym has showers if you pay for a day. Beach bathrooms and cold outdoor showers down the road.
There are regular parallel parking spots, and then in-between the climbing gym and market spots there were a few pull in spots.
There may be scant parking during the middle of the day, go down to Seabright Beach and park on the ridge until 10pm. There's a pedestrian bridge to the boardwalk and into downtown.

Nice spot. One night here. 10 pm - 8 am
Gym visits starts at 8

Second night here tonight. Off a busy main road but far enough away to cut some of the noise. Fairly crowded in the morning starting around maybe 8, but overall a great stay! We stayed to the right of the private property signs, closer to the mechanic.

Used to park here all the time while in Santa Cruz. Don't park close to the Rock climbing area instead park in the across days market and the auto body shop. last time I was there they were only going after people that were camped out there for more than several days.

Pulled in but didn’t stay. Looked like a parking lot to climbing gym and surrounding residential area

Very quiet. My first experience with street camping. Dropped my son off at UCSC and needed a place to stay for the night. Worked great.

Report Check-In

The original post and picture show a parking lot that now has signs everywhere saying no overnight parking so be aware of that. Though, I saw at least 3 rigs that were parked there and obviously had no issues.

There is plenty of street parking around, I’d recommend marina parade, very quite street and trees to park under for shade as well :-)

Breakfast at Linda’s was pretty good too :-)

Report Check-In

Adjacent to coffee roaster.
Arrived ~9am, left at 6am — no issues

Free overnight parking near park, one block away from beach. No “no” signs. Other vans alongside us parked overnight with no issues as well. Near a railroad, but did not see or hear a train pass the 24hrs we were there.

We slept one night here in our rig. This street is a little noisy at night but felt safe. We did notice that there are no overnight parking signs but we just parked on the residential area and left pretty early in the a.m.

We arrived Friday afternoon on a Labor Day weekend. I parked down the street for a couple of hours because it was full. Eventually found a spot and stayed 2 nights. Friday night was noisy (brewery) until maybe midnight. Saturday was full during the day, thinned out a lot at night, and was very quiet (except for the guy parked next to me who was alone but fighting with someone That wasn’t there). I had 4 bars Verizon cell service. I would go there again.

Report Check-In

No overnight parking any more. Place is dirty any really noisy. Would look out for an other place!

Sitio para pasar la noche sin problemas, nosotros dormimos 2 rv de 30ft sin pegas, junto a otras caravanas. Tienes cerca un pequeño supermercado donde poder comprar si llegas tarde

Nice quiet street by Ocean View Park. No parking restrictions. Has clean bathroom in the park and water (they lock the bathroom at sunset). Be nice and quiet since this is a residential area. About 15min walk to the boardwalk.

Great sandy little spot. We stayed here once before and had no problems so we came back and spent the night again. This second time we felt more comfortable so we popped the top on our sportsmobile, again no problems.

Last note- the spot can be a bit noisy since there’s a road right there and people come in and out early and late. It’s not bad though. Just make sure you park in the spots without signs in front of them.

Report Check-In

During the day this is a very busy part of town. There are a couple of restaurants, a popular coffee place, and the climbing hall. Plenty of opportunity to use the bathroom while they are open. There are a few level spots, but you might have to move to one of those after everything is closed and there are not so many parked cars. Streets have virtually no traffic during the night so very quiet.

Adding a few photos here, note the open spaces and a few campers
