Description

Nice place for a picnic. Gate close at 6:30 but just before the gate; seems to be a nice place to sleep.

no overnight parking but amazing to be at during operating hours. have taken many great naps here. Grills for cooking, outside shower, bathrooms, covered areas. no parking on side streets there is one area for parking but you can get away with it near the mangrove fishing/loading/unloading holes but just be clearly near your car or park in the parking area and setup a spot to chill. people may ask if you can move so they can launch.

Report Check-In

Got the knock at 1:30. Police said no parking overnight

Report Check-In

Fell asleep to the sound of wind and waves... woke up to a police siren going whoop-whoop behind my vehicle. Officers said overnight parking is not allowed. This is a huge shame; it's a beautiful spot (and Rees Park itself is still a good daytime option). I ended up at the Cracker Barrel farther south on 19. Ugh.

Tranquil beach with trails and boardwalk through mangroves. Swings and play area for children. You cannot stay within the gate to the beach, but can park anywhere along the road outside the gate. Please be courteous to the local fishermen and do not block any boat launches. Just outside the gate was completely trashed, so I had an idea there might be a bit of riff raff energy through the area. Cars in and out until midnight or so gathering, playing music… then quiet. Then again some cars came through very loud around 4am and left. I encourage every vanlifer/boondocker to bring extra trash bags wherever you stay and clean it up a bit. Give back in some way if you feel in your heart. Took a morning run down to the small boyscout loop trail and had nice yoga session in their vacant pavilion there 💚

nice spot, fairly busy during the day. no dogs allowed in the park so that's a bummer but there's plenty of access to the water on the road leading to the gate and a million places to park that are more-or-less level.

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night outside of the park entrance. No issues, great spot close to the water.

Report Check-In

Spent a night here, quiet, dark, no problems. We need to be careful not to burn this spot. Don't stay too long, be respectful, don't block the gravel boat launches. Park has beach showers and bathrooms, water fountain. Beautiful spot.
