Something not right?

Description

I stayed straight at the beach in front of the lighthouse. In high season probably a lot of people here even at night so you have to figure out. I stayed here on a Friday during spring break but it was okay. Nobody bothered me. There is a restroom very close as well some pavilions with tables and seats. A cold shower at the beach too. For me perfect place for free instead of paying 24 bucks in the state park.

There is no overnight camping allowed in Franklin County

Report Check-In

There are now signs prohibiting overnight parking (see pics). This could be a new county ordinance as we saw the same sign at the two other places we tried last night. We showed up late and ended up parking in the sandy lot near the donut shop instead of the paved one. No problems, but definitely wouldn't advise it.

No problems last night. Stayed in the small parking lot near the basketball court. Restrooms were "open" all night and there's a beach shower down the boardwalk. Lighthouse was fun and the donut shop across the parking lot was a nice breakfast.

Beautiful spot, but now there’s a sign that says overnight parking and camping prohibited. Not staying here tonight but thought I would let future overlanders know. Stay at your own risk

Stayed 1 night in converted van... arrived after state park closed 6:45ish. Very quiet all night. One other van stayed as well.

Report Check-In

It's a nice place and toilets are just next to the lighthouse. There were lots of people walking their dogs in the morning and checking on us but nobody said anything. Keep it low profile and you will be fine.

Report Check-In

Very nice place near the beach with beautiful sunrise.

Report Check-In

Stayed in the smaller parking left to the lighthouse from the street. Nobody, very quiet.

pretty nice for a night. climb the lighthouse for 5$ they let you go into the tippytop. def check out the state park during the day and Paddys row bar for cheap local tasty food

Report Check-In

At the lighthouse turn right and you will see a parking lot with no overnight parking signage. We parked behind that lot towards the beach, across from a brick wall. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming, and we had no issues, even with the pup. Great spot.
