Awesome views at the top of a primitive road right outside Bisbee. Windy and cold at night. Good cellular reception T-Mobile. No signs. Only 3 stars because it’s right on the road. 1 vehicle came up in the last hour 5pm-6pm Wednesday March 27 2009.

Very steep and scary road but multiple good spots once you get here. We did fine in an AWD Transit van. 1500 feet elevation gain in a short drive but you can see forever!
Report Check-InNot recommended for travel trailers. We drove up mid-January, and the first boondocking site after the first corner is now closed off. There are no other sites until you get to the top. The last section at the top is very steep, prob 30% grade and gravel. Best for 4WD vehicles only. Amazing views and super windy. Stayed at the Queen Mine RV site instead. $50/ni and the Queen Mine tour was a highlight.
Report Check-InBeautiful views for miles in most directions. Cool breezes. Nice respite from the heat.
Report Check-InNot a place to boondock for big rig !! Too steep and narrow. No turn around.
Report Check-InSteep good road up pickup camper no problem. But steep public road up to microwave towers. Not private. This is the best spot good for 2 rvs. Many others higher tho.
View at night and morning are spectacular. 2 bars data.
This spot is on Private Land, not BLM, according to GaiaGPS private land maps.
Report Check-InHistoric site of Fairbank- free drinking water in outdoor faucets. One is close to the parking lot.

Pretty good climb up the side of the mountain but the views were spectacular! My husband and I climbed the mountain in our 25’ school bus. There are a very rocky jaunts and a few washed out areas but no high clearance or 4x4 is necessary.
It is VERY windy at all times but especially at night. Very chilly at night as well but the view is worth it. You can see forever in the evenings.
The road is highly traveled which was a surprise to us. We stocked up on supplies in Douglas, NM before heading to this spot. Stayed here for four very windy nights before we headed down to see the town of Bisbee.
Don’t miss Erie Street in Lowell! Very neat!
Report Check-InWow, amazing views. Steep, switch-back roads. Many spots, far apart. There are some huge rigs here. Pretty impressive driving on this narrow, winding road. 7000 ft elevation. Windy and unprotected. Many hand-made crosses up here of those who have passed to the mountain spirits.
Report Check-InSteep climb to the top, narrow roads so take it slow going up and down. But great views at the top! Spots scattered along side of road. 4 bars At&t.
Report Check-InPull off on the corner on the road. Hard to find a level spot, but we made it work! 100% worth it for the view! Sunset & sunrise here is breathtaking. Just not that it gets pretty windy up there! Roads getting there are steep but nice and flat. Very narrow, so be careful for oncoming traffic. Great Verizon reception!
Report Check-InWe accidentally passed the coordinates. But there's spots everywhere.
We ended up staying farther up along the road by finding a random side trail/road and stopping at the first opening.
Stars and views when we woke up were astounding. Beautiful stop.
Report Check-InIf you keep driving past this location there are a lot of flat spots, many with fire rings. Only one car went past around 10pm. Very quiet. The stars and view were gorgeous.
Report Check-InLocal folks don’t use the term “The Shrine” for this spot. It’s simply a small parking area right at the point where the road forks 3 ways (the left hand fork is faint). The views are magical, especially during summer monsoon. There is a lot of hiking in the area. Totally off grid. Cellular reception is good.
Local people frequently park here for hiking. But even with this, it’s an isolated and magical location for boondocking.
Report Check-InGood level-enough spot/pull out to park my class B Sprinter. Spectacular view and stars! Quiet. Room enough for two small rigs (sharing is nice!) No signs. (I don’t think I made it all the way to the top as it doesn’t look like the photo and this certainly is not tent or big rig friendly.)
