Public parking, flat, with lawn and trees with good shade. We saw police patrols several times during the day and at night too. Bathroom and shower 500m from this location. very silent and peaceful. We stayed 2 nights here.

Estacionamento público, plano, com gramado e árvores com boa sombra. vimos ronda da polícia diversas vezes durante o dia e a noite também. Banheiro e ducha a 500mts deste local. muito silencioso e tranquilo. Ficamos 2 noites aqui.

Stayed here 2 nights. They still welcome overlanders but DEFINITELY don’t want you staying on the BYC lot. We had to park on the street right out front. It’s ok, as it is well lit and the night watchman will keep an eye on you. I saw the previous comment about it not being safe at night so asked the head of security ( Jose - he speaks perfect English ). He said the area is very safe and it did not appear unsafe to us. Great bar for a drink, view of the canal and drop dead perfect shot of the Bridge of the Americas. Friends also stayed nearby at the dead end street behind the Country Inn Suites ( Raddison ) and it was quiet and secure ( no facilities there though)

I was going to spend the night here, but police came and said it wasn’t safe. I then went to the parking lot at the end of Amador Ave.

Report Check-In

Nobody there. Just us and one abandoned camper. Quite and safe. We just stayed one night.

Report Check-In

We liked it here. Peaceful & safe. Friendly gate-guard chap for the Yacht Club. There are no facilities so you need to be self-contained, but we stayed here most nights for 6 weeks whilst we explored the area, crewed on a yacht through the Canal and had loads of dental treatment. Free.

Report Check-In

We slept here one night. Quiet and police drove few times around.
Really close from DIJ.

estuvimos en varias oportunidades en este lugar, super tranquilo y seguro. Recomendamos si estan recorriendo la ciudad por la tarde, volver luego de las 20 horas para no caer en los trancones del trafico!!!

So far totally fine for urban camping, pretty quiet. police drove by and said hello. Another rig is here and said they have been here for 3 weeks. If we can find some cheap internet we will probably stay for the weekend.

Report Check-In

All three spots in the area are actually street parking/wild camping spots. But the area is safe and there are usually many overlanders waiting for their shipping. We parked near the Yacht Club. We had a reasonably priced drink there in the evening to use the internet which was quite fast. In the morning someone opened the showers for us, but we seemed to have been lucky.

Okay for a night. We used toilets at yatch club as we had meal there, after a little negotiation they allowed showers down the stairway ...free

Report Check-In

Okay for the Night and the fact that its free. Showers are down the stairs before the Gate for the yachts. ASK the guard. He haste keys. Wifi from the Bar, toilet at the Bar. Noisy at night. Military and Police patrols at Night, so pretty safe

Report Check-In

They have a spiket on the side of the building that you can fill buckets of water up, but not close enough to fill your tanks with a hose. The hotel next to TGI Fridays has really clean bathrooms.

Report Check-In

- free
- no services
- Balboa Yacht Club no longer allows others to use their facilities. We begged our way into the showers, it was difficult.
- Noisy at night (Sunday) - there is a night club nearby that plays loud music over the weekend, including Sunday night.
- Better spot is behind the Country Inn hotel.

We camped on the road side at the yacht club with fellow overlanders. We could use the facilities of the yacht club for free (down to the jetty, right in front of the pier to the left). From outside the toilets look rather scruffy, but they are clean and the showers have hot water. Room with washing machines (US $ 0.50 / machine - hot water) and dryer (0.75 US $ / machine). Free WIFI in the restaurant of the Yacht Club. Good prices in the restaurant. Taxi to the Miraflores Locks costs US $ 8 from here.
