I don’t know why this place is marked as closed. We got stopped at this one. They were friendly but with loads of questions. Eventually one guy started talking about himself and what he likes in Oaxaca.

It seems only cars going west have been arrested. We were going east so we had not been checked.

We were asked for our papers at checkpoint, they quickly looked at our passports and waved us through. A few KMs down the road, we were pulled over by the police. Our x-rays looked suspicious because of weight in back of our van (water tank, bed, etc). They did quick search inside (looking through all our pillows), then looked in the back. Friendly but lots of questions.

Four or five cop cars, but they were all busy cooling down in the shade around noon, that they didn't bother for other cars

1 km before this point is a military checkpoints. They wanted to check our whole car, but if you tell them that you speak no Spanish, they just checked our papers. Good luck!
