Description

This is a perfect stop for people traveling to Bogota from the north. It is difficult to make the trip all the way to Bogota in one day. Tamauka is a good stopping point to take a break before entering the chaos of Bogota. It also allows for day trips to nearby national parks and smaller villages on the outskirts of Bogota. We have done a great deal of camping in South America and have never before found a more beautiful, organized camping area. The common kitchen is huge and well equipped. The bathrooms are clean and the shower is hot. There is a large flat area for parking and/or tents. Plenty of beautiful space to hang out, be together or alone and enjoy the outdoors. There are horses, sheep, chickens and a garden. You can have laundry done for a small fee. My Claro chip worked well here. The farm is located within a gated, private community with security. Before you arrive at the main gate, call Patricia at WhatsApp +573164485126.

We highly recommend this spot. 15,000 Colombian pesos per person.

Report Check-In

Followed the past post’s instructions to get here but ran into a few issues.
First, our Claro chip didn’t work at the guard’s entrance therefore we could not call Patricia. The guard had to help us. Let her know at least with one day in advance or you may not find anybody at the campsite. The guards won’t let you in unless she advices them.
Second, when we came it had been raining for about 4 days. When we left the site at 7am a fallen tree was blocking the road and it took a community effort and 3 hours to get it cleared. The evening we arrived we also saw a few trees blocking other parts. So don’t come here if it’s been raining hard and you have to be somewhere fast.
Third, it is not really a campsite even if it calls itself that. It’s more of an event place where groups can rent houses and have parties or conferences. If it’s raining, the camp area will get a lot of water and your tent will get wet!
Fourth, if you’re driving a bigger rig than a truck camper the entry could get complicated as you can only get in on one side.
Overall I would not advice to stay here unless you don’t have other options. Staying in Suesca could be a better option instead.
