Description

*Respect no camping signs.

100m before Midnight Dome viewpoint, on the right-hand side there are two pull-outs. Both have fireplaces with stones around it. Very quiet at night, busy in the evening because it is a lookout over Yukon and Klondike River, with some nice northern lights. Beautiful spot, no one cared. At the viewpoint, there is a sign that says short-term parking only and "no camping allowed" so please respect it.

Latest Check-Ins

We slept 2 nights here.
According to signs, it seems that you can't camp at the viewpoint, but nothing is saying you can't before, on the area where this GPS pin is.
In late September, we were only 2 minivans here, some locals come to the viewpoint and to watch auroras, but it was very calm and quiet.
Pit toilets, garbage cans, and you got a very nice cellular connection at the viewpoint !

Report Check-In

Not too bad in september. On a sunday long weekend we were the only ones or other ones camped. Motorbikes and cars did come up at like 1-2 AM though and you can hear them. No one bothered us. Cell reception only at the lookout

Report Check-In

Got to the top and there had to have been at least 12 rigs camped up here. Standing room only. Seems to be very popular. Also seems like some have been here for quite awhile. Wouldn’t come back to boondock. Too busy.

Report Check-In

We should have parked here. When we arrived at 7:30 am there were five Camper vans parked here. Great spot. We will use this spot the next time. Garbages available here.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot with jaw dropping views of Dawson City and Yukon river valley.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 2 nights. Parked at viewpoint. Amazing views. Clean outhouse nearby. Road is paved from bottom to top. Despite no camping sign that has been bent over, neither us or 3 other van campers experienced and trouble. Noticed several folks camped just below summit near outhouse. No signage prohibiting camping there.

Report Check-In

We and multiple other campers stayed here, below the loop on the other side of the toilet house. RCMP came by late in the evening and didn't care.

Report Check-In

No overnight signs are gone.

There is one no camping sign bolted to a rock.

Stayed up here on solstice with no issues. As long as you don’t set up camp and overstay your welcome then you’re fine to stay here.

Outside city limits does not fall within Dawson city’s authority to ticket and rcmp don’t care

Report Check-In

No overnight / no camping signs here now

Report Check-In

The place looks good, better than I thought, but too far from town for us when we have another free option in town. The 15min drive up the hill is a good workout for the engine.

Report Check-In

Parked overnight in the gravel lot across from pit toilet just before loop up to Midnight Dome lookout. Forest fire smoke is heavy and thunderstorm though the night kept many visitors away. Woke up with 2 vans nearby, both quiet and respectful. No cell service at the gravel lot but cell service right at the lookout point where the interpretive sign is located. Picnic table and garage located at lookout point.

Report Check-In

Just before the dome viewpoint a dirt track with several places. Best view from the top

Report Check-In

fabulous view. a few other campers, but everyone was pretty quiet except for some people with a drone. no cell service, but if you walk up to the overlook, you get good reception there.

Report Check-In

Great spot with absolute amazing view. higly recommended even when a few people come up there to see the sunset. Picknick tables and a big bench to view the sunset.

Report Check-In

I was here in June when the sun sets at close to 1am and it was very busy with campers, locals playing cards and photographers. I was very tired after a long drive so I took one of the dirt road next to one of the pull outs that lead to a firering a bit up the hill. More mosquitoes and limited view on the sunset/river, but very quiet... at least until a bunch of local came up the hill at 1am and stayed close to my car talking for a while.

Report Check-In

Great spot! No problems at all. Nice views at night. We didn’t had much traffic at all.

Report Check-In

We took the dirt track just past the pull-off up the hill to a more secluded space. it was flat and quiet but no cell service for us up there. Great views and saw nor heard anyone.

Report Check-In

Great place to spend the night with a spectacular view of the sunset over the river. It didn't quiet down until about 11:30 last night (1/2 hour past sunset) but then very quiet. Be mindful of bears that frequent the area in the late evening and early morning.

Report Check-In

great place! quite at night and because of the wind no bugs.

Report Check-In

Superb place. Great views and sunsets and peaceful. A few cars drove up to see the sun go down but this time of year it was very quiet.

Report Check-In

Very quiet place for a night.

Report Check-In

Large parking area. There were two other rigs there when we pulled our fifth-wheel in and there was enough space for everyone. Large rigs would fit in one of the spots, which you would have to pull straight in and back straight back out.

Report Check-In

Either right at Midnight Dome or 100m before there are two pull Outs. Both have fireplaces with Stones around it. Very quiet at Night, busy in the evening because it is a lookout over Yukon and Klondike River. Beautiful Spot, no one cared.
