Marcello still lives here but doesn't do any mechanics anymore. He sent me to 'best mechanic in town' in the centre, also on ioverlander (6km), this guy specialises in overlanders.

Marcelo is a very good mechanic and a very friendly person. He couldn't fix our van because he had too much work, but he diagnosed the problem and referred us to another (very good) mechanic.
I recommend it!!!

We came here based on reviews and were not disappointed! We had squeaky brakes. He disassembled and reassembled it all, plus did some general checks. We did have to come back but he fixed the error free of charge. Highly recommend!

Marcelo is such a good guy... He methodically fixed all of our issues on the Defender and found a few more which we are SO SO glad he did (gear box oil was empty for example). Can do any type of vehicle not just Land Rover... Highly recommended :-)

Marcelo was very helpful, we disassembled the a-frame ball joint and did some general maintenance. he came with me to get the proper oil for the diffs and introduced me to a welder who could fix the spare tire carrier.
fyi there are basically no land rover parts available in Salta, better organize them beforehand!
Marcelo speaks a bit of English which is helpful when explaining a problem :)

Marcelo Benitez is a Land Rover enthusiast and experienced mechanic. He owns a 300tdi Disco and has a recovery service.

If you travel with a Land Rover and are looking for a very serious and friendly person to check your car don’t hesitate to contact Marcelo! He took me with him to several mechanic shop to find good quality and best priced filters and oils for my TD5.
Than we worked together on the car while having very friendly and interesting discussions about our countries. Marcelo is a very smart person who has fair good English. We were welcomed into his house with his very nice family.
Surely one of the most honest mechanic you can meat in Argentina.
Call him before going as he has another job.
