Costa Rica
In front of police station there is place to park and they welcome campers. No facilities but it is safe, quiet and free.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Came here cycling. Asked to 5 police officers if we could camp. They responded: "CAMP? Here? hahahah no!!" And then they told me to ask in front at the priest of the Christian camp.
Cycled to Cruz Roja, we were super welcomed.
We slept one night here. Good for a night.
Dormimos una noche acá, bien para una noche
Report Check-InWe asked the police and no problem to spend the night on the parking lot in front of them. Free and safe spot
Report Check-InSlept the night here parked across the police station. This is where they told us we should park, felt safe since they had visibility the entire night of our camper. A bit loud throughout the night, lots of cars passing by. Overall safe and good after crossing the border.
Report Check-InArrived here on foot after dark to enquire about camping and was immediately shown an area I could pitch my tent. There was also a tap for drinking water and an outdoor power outlet I was able to use to charge my phone. I was also shown a semi exposed bathroom that had seen better days but it also had a makeshift shower I could use in the form of a pipe that was just above my head.
Most importantly, it was a very safe area to pitch a tent since it was right next to the police station.
Note: There are actually two police stations and you want the one that is further away from the main road. The pin is quite accurate.
Report Check-InStill Well , quiet and safe. 1h from border custom .
Report Check-InDevant le poste de police aucun service gratuit et un peu bruyant.
Report Check-InPolice still ok with overlanders staying here for a night. Quiet street, didn't have any issues. Parking on the side of street across from the police station.
