Description

Pepe and families welcomed us in their RV Park.
El Rancho is well-prepared with a lot of spots for big rigs with hookups, dump station and water. The owners are gentle, always ready to help you.
We were there while repairing our truck camper. They let us use their tools and helped us every time we needed them.
The place is surrounded by mountains, it’s very quiet during night and day. It’s located 10 blocks away from El Tule Tree, restaurant area, the market and laundry. The bus stop to Oaxaca is close too.
It’s the best RV Park we’ve been in Mexico so far.
.....

Other comments covers the park. There is a dog rescue next door and at feeding time the dogs ae heard but other than that very quite nice place. still $350 a night with all hookups.

Report Check-In

Well maintained, clean showers and toilets, the washing machine is great. But loud at night and very early in the morning because of constant barking dogs and music and trucks on the neighboring property. The two guys who care about the place only speak spanish, which makes the communcation sometimes difficult. Family area in the front part (including the pool…), spots on the large meadow close together, for more privacy go to the far end near the washing machine. Difficult to get to the east with public transport, bus to Oaxaca OK, but stops 15 minutes walk from the center. If you like to meet other people, that’s the place.

Report Check-In

Excellent place very clean
Lots parking for large rigs hook ups

Report Check-In

Well maintained campground with many amenities typical of European RV parks. You can visit the Tule Tree which is within walking distance. In the same area, on the road there is an excellent restaurant called "Caldo de Piedra", ask for their specialty, you won't regret it.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, clean campground with great amenities. 350 a night. One night free per week. Short walk to El Tule, which has all basic needs and is a great little town. 20 minute bus to Oaxaca city is 8 pesos.

We came for a night or two, ended up staying a week! Great spot to just hang out or get things done, and a trip to the city is very easy. Tule is also beautiful and worth a visit or two

on recommande vraiment !

We were worried it was too far out of Oaxaca to be a good spot for us, but there’s a good bike trail that takes you all the way to the historic center safe and sound! We also liked the nearby town. That tree is so impressive and we ate some delicious black mole at the yellow restaurant on the main square.

We only stayed one night. Nice place. Call ahead to get directions, because Google Maps will send you down a very bumpy road. No issues with our 21' trailer and truck.

Report Check-In

As you can see this is a GREAT campground! Like others we thought maybe 3 nights and ended up staying 9. It was so nice to just chill the day after arriving. We met other friendly campers to hear where they had been & were going.
$350pesos per night. Stay 6, get 1 night free.
Calli was there to help, answer questions and managing the property for owners Pepe & Paco. He and one other helper did all the landscaping & cleaning.
Calli had garafones too if you need purified water, $30pesos for 20L/5Gal.
They do have washing machine & clothes line, not sure price we had just done laundry in Puebla.
Plenty of clean bathrooms & showers. A pool and communal area for cooking & hanging out.
We hired a tour guide to take us to Monte Alban the company was unorganized and we did not go to all the other planned stops. We told Pepe and for our next day excursion Pepe hooked us up with a great driver Alvaro who was friendly & knowledgeable, local who drove us to Hierve Agua a must visit. Then to Mitla, we invited him to have lunch with us and then we went to a friend of Alvaro’s home/distillery & agave fields where he makes Mezcal. A great education and tasting! Intimate and not a tourist trap.
Another day we borrowed Pepe & his wife’s bicycles and went to Teotitlan de Valle to visit the coop Vida Nueva another must visit! The village is known for weavers and this was a great education in the process from beginning to end in weaving beautiful rugs and other pieces.

Once again 5 weeks perfect camping. Pool, showers, toilets and surrounding spotless clean!
The owners Paco and Pepe are so friendly and helpful. We'll be back soon....

Report Check-In

This is an amazing place to stay. We think it’s the best campground in all of Mexico. Paco and Pepe, the owners, are amazing people. They are always willing to help solve any problems you may have from finding mechanics to recommendations on places to see. Calli is the most attentive and careful caretaker we have ever seen. He makes sure that grounds and the bathrooms are spotless. The pool is clean. The campground has all facilities from a communal kitchen to a lending library to hookups and sewer dumps. There is a washing machine and a line to dry your clothes.

Report Check-In

It is 350 MXN for 2 people, and more if extra people. There are some long-term families here with loud kids. The neighborhood dogs can get loud, but none in the camping area. The guy running the place is nice, but can be annoying. He will definitely follow you around and watch you to make sure you are following the rules, especially sorting the trash. Even weirdly went into the women's restroom when my partner was in there. But other than that, it is a nice clean place to take a break for a few days.

Report Check-In

Probably one of the best-maintained RV parks in Mexico! It even has a washing machine for MX $50 per load. Oaxaca city center is about 30 minutes away but you can take a taxi for about MX $160. There is no Uber around here. The shared taxies (brown/white) are cheaper but you need to understand how they work.

The water quality and pressure at sites is really not good. We use a filter and after filling up all the elements of the filter were green. 🤮

There are also some mosquitoes around, so we managed to get quite a few bites. Lots of mosquitoes around the showers and toilets!

Still the best..... Thanks to el Rancho team for the wonderful time..!!

better to do a reservation in advance, dump/ water at most sides, dump for european trucks with middle connection only in family lot 1 possible (so we went twice to this empty lot), dogs barking very loud sometimes, it is not the quitest place, but worth to stay, very good washing Maschine (50P per coin), nice dringend outside area, very clean and hot showers, nice Pool area, clean kitchen (the freezer and frigde has to be cleanded), easy walk to el tule, easy to find a bus to oaxaca, private Taxi monte Alban one way 250P

Report Check-In

What else is there to say? Great place close to the wonderful city of Oaxaca. We stayed a total of 9 nights and paid 1,800 Pesos for the first week and then 300 Pesos/night (big rig, 2 persons). It's about 30-40 minutes into Oaxaca center by taxi or bus, depending on the time of the day. We had a nice group of people staying with us and thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Report Check-In

Just one of the best campgrounds in Mexico

Report Check-In

It was no clear from the comments below so I will post it again here. 300 pesos is the fee for people traveling alone with a tent by bike too. It is far too expensive for me so I stayed at Oaxacaview for 175pesos which is still more than what I normally pay as bicycle traveler 👍

Report Check-In

The campground is really nice, everything is clean and it’s easy to get to Oaxaca. When we where here, there where lots of children playing, screaming and crying. Maybe something to keep in mind.

Report Check-In

Great rv park with hookups. Pet friendly (pick up after your dog & bring your own bags. They separate & recycle everything, so your dog poo needs to be emptied into a bucket and food waste is saved for Cali's hogs - he is the main caretaker).

Price is $300 MXN/night, or $1,800 per week for up to 4 people. We have 3 kids, so it was another $150 per night or $2700/week, which didn't really make sense to me mathematically. One extra kid costs half the base price?

Anyway, the economy of scale is better if you are 4 people or less.

There is a nice clean, small and well maintained pool with an attached spa - neither of which are heated, but the temperature is actually perfect on warmer days. There is a community kitchen, with fridge & freezer, sink, microwave, toaster and non-working electric 2-burner hot plate. There is also a large covered patio (palapa) dining area, with couches and a mid-sized flat screen (we plugged our firestick in here and had a Superbowl potluck with other guests). They also have a large drum style charcoal barbecue and a brick pizza oven! You just need to supply your own charcoal or wood.

There are 2 bathrooms, one close to the pool and community kitchen, with multiple sinks, toilets and 3 shower stalls located between the men's & women's restrooms. The water heater for these showers is only like a 30 gallon tank, so you either need to time your shower when others are not taking theirs, or just get used to a lukewarm or cold shower.

There is another men's & women's shower, each with it's private toilet (sinks are outside under a roof, but all sinks have only cold water with the valve in the discharge opening of the faucet. So no hot water for shaving and kind of a pain for anything besides just hand washing). But these two showers have their own 50 gallon hot water heater, so you have a better chance of a hot shower. They seem to not have discovered tankless water heaters yet in Mexico, which is a shame because it would offer much better service, using less energy - so less cost to the owners.

There is also a newer front-load washing machine located adjacent to this restroom, which you can purchase tokens for at $50 pesos per load. No dryer, but there is a community clothesline behind this building (most people choose to hang their laundry in their own campsite, as did we).

There is also at least one rentable room in this building, but I have no info on beds, nor cost. The owners, brothers Pepe and Paco, are very pleasant and both speak excellent English. You can call them, or reach them via Whatsapp (our choice) for reservations, or questions. Payment is only in cash, but can be made to Cali as well.

I have only a couple of small issues to report for our stay, which will be 11 nights (unless we extend a few more days), which are more suggestions:

The park is on a septic system and a well, or wells (not the best combination in Mexico because they may not be following the best construction practices for separation and system integrity for these installations. Which also may be why their water is non-potable. Pre-treatment with chlorine (especially once water is stored in tanks which also tend to grow algae), is something they have not really figured out yet in Mexico. Anyway, that is more of a general than facilty-specific issue. Suffice it to say, after constructing water supply services all over the world, I never drink, cook with, nor clean food using tap water, without post delivery treatment (this includes in the US and Western Europe. Chlorine is not good for you either - so you want to take it back out at the end of your water supply).

Lastly, they have this highly unsanitary practice common in Latin America and here at this park of depositing used feces-laden toilet paper in a trash can adjacent the toilet, in the mistaken belief that their septic system is incapable of digesting toilet paper. This is absolutely untrue. Unfortunately, there is a lot of ignorance about this. Toilet paper is easily digested by a properly constructed septic system - IF you use the correct product - single ply toilet paper, which has not been chemically treated in production. This paper is partially broken down with the mechanical action of flushing and then is easily digested within the septic tank prior to the effluent entering the leechfield. However, if you use a multi-ply product (they have 2-ply commercial rolls, which are also usually chemically treated at this park) they are strengthened for use, which unfortunately also makes them resistant to breaking down within the septic system.

Human feces in the trash risks spreading illnesses such as hepatitis, cholera, dysentery and others that have been mostly eradicated through modern hygiene and sanitation methods, which are of much greater concern within higher density population centers.

Wonderful place. Clean, well run, friendly, with so many amenities. Easy walk into the charming town of El Tule, and easy collectivo to Oaxaca city. We paid 300 pesos per night for two people. Children are 50 pesos per night (this is a very family friendly place). If you stay a week the 7th night is free.

We spent a lovely week at El Rancho. Hottest showers in Mexico, helpful owners, fast internet, clean, beautiful pool and quiet and family friendly. We played music several nights with other musicians. We met some lovely overlanders (including families with children) from Brazil, Canada, Germany and the UK and received help and assistance troubleshooting electrical and plumbing issues on our van, including an inline filter for our water pump from a fellow traveler’s spares kit. We made trips into Oaxaca City El Centro daily using the bus ($8/pp) and/or collectivos ($15/pp) Taxis back after dark ranged from $150-250 Mx. No need to drive your rig into town. The Tule tree and the restaurants in Tule are an easy walk or bike ride from El Rancho too. We also went rock climbing at San Sebastián Tutla, about a 10 minute drive from El Rancho with climbs ranging from 5.6-5.14. We also went hiking in Molinos on the North side of the valley organized by Oaxaca Lending Library. All in all, one of our favorite spots in the last six months. Hard to leave! Gracias por todo!!

Still the best Campground. Everything clean and very friendly.
All new and faster Wi-Fi.
Just to add, all the longtimers are very helpful!!

Second time for us in this lovely campground. We are going to come back for sure, whenever we are in the area. Nothing really to add on previous comments. You really have everything you need here. The amenities are really well-kept, the owners are beyond helpful. All in all the best campground we‘ve been in 5 months traveling through the country.

Report Check-In

we slept 4 great night's here.
they have full hookups . hot shower, helpfull other overlanders, a swimming pool, and around the kitchen you have fast internet.
one down site it's a little to comfortable so you end up staying in and don't go to the city.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Almost very quite. 300 pesos the night.

Report Check-In

Very nice campground and everyone is so friendly!
To go to the city, it is really simple :
Go to the Main Street, wave to stop a « taxi » red/white (it is like a collectivo), say you want to go to the « baseball stadium » and then you can walk all around the center. It cost 15 pesos per person. If you catch a bus, its 10 pesos per person.
Be aware, they close the gate at 10pm. If you want to come back later, just ask a key to the owners.
300 pesos per night with Dump station, electricity, water, laundry (50 pesos to wash but no dryer), pool, kitchen, BBQ, pizza oven, hot shower, wifi (not everywhere)

Report Check-In

Nice park, lovely and chilled. However, it’s a 20min drive into town, so if you’re going to have a few drinks it’s a pain to get back home after dark. Also think it’s over priced at $300 per night. Showers were cold too!

We spent 10 days here. We really enjoyed this park. Amazing wifi, beautiful grounds, pool and bathroom/showers. They have also have bikes that you can use and it is walking distance to el tule.

Also there are lots of long term over landers staying here so we met some great people and we got lots of advice for our travels.

Report Check-In

From our experience, we were greeting by a man which told us everything about this place. It has a very nice clean pool, bathrooms and showers along with a full kitchen and plenty of grass all over! We arrived in the afternoon when it was super hot outside and came here because we needed to plug in to run the ac after the long drive from Puebla.

The man insisted that we parked on the far end of the park where we would be closer to the back showers, and mentioned it would allow us to spread out more. However it was on the sunny side, but fine, so we plugged it to crank up the AC only to find the voltage was at 138v!

We moved to the shaded side and he quickly came to see what's up. Then told us that the voltage is always like that. Either way we stayed on the shade now even more so because we couldn't plug in.

Turns out this man is not the owner but he acts like it. He instructs everyone new coming in to park on the sunny side away from where he's parked so that he's not bothered since he's sensitive to noise. He'll tell you you can't run the AC at night even though that's not the rules here.

He complains about everything and everyone complains about him.

Besides him, this is an amazing place. Very well kept, with all the amenities, and close to Tule. The only downsides are this guy and the voltage being too high, but fast internet, great water pressure, plenty of space shade on one side starting at 2pm, overall quiet around the area and very safe with a giant door and a great worker keeping the place amazing!

Would highly recommend coming here!

Report Check-In

Super nice and clean RV park with grass and a pool! Great place to stay if you want to chill out in the pool or work on your rig. We found it to be kind of inconvenient if you want to check out Oaxaca itself. To get to the Centro - walk 10 minutes, wait for a collectivo with space, drive 15 minutes, walk another 15 minutes to the beginning of the Centro. Not difficult, but takes about an hour to get there, then they stop running around 9pm to come back, and the taxis/Uber/DiDi ranged from 115 pesos to 185 pesos to come back.
If you want to explore Oaxaca, it’s probably cheaper to get a hotel in the city at the end of the day.
But still a super nice RV park!

RV Park in Ox MX. Pool and Hot Showers. Safe and secure

Report Check-In

We stayed here for 5 months. It is an oasis in the area. The grounds are meticulously maintained with 2 - 3 full time caretakers and 2 owners, all of which are very helpful and friendly. The owners speak good English which makes booking and dealing with them easy. It is very quiet but can be busy at times. The perimeter is well secured with tall fences and main gate with complete privacy. The pool and bathrooms are decent, though the pool is not heated so can be freezing. The common area and kitchen is fantastic. Wifi is at least 100mb with 2 access points, though the main 5ghz one is best. The rear yard 2.4ghz is more like 10mb. The water pressure is good, though the power was an issue. They only have 15amp outlets on the pillars, though there are 4 outlets across 2 30amp breakers so if you have or make an adapter cable and plug in to one 15 from each breaker you can draw 40amp before tripping the branch breaker. One major issue though is the voltage sits around 127volts and regularly goes over 135volts so even bypassing our surge protector, our inverters would regularly disconnect our appliances for long periods to protect them. If you have a larger or newer RV, this will be a problem. Also you can’t run a generator in the park so you need to make the power work for you. It was a tight squeeze to get our 43’ RV into the rear yard, and the sites are all back in, no pull through, but once in it was a comfortable stay. The caretakers work long days until at least 6pm so getting deliveries here was easy. They would open the gate and receive the items and either keep them at the front for you or deliver them to your site. Out off all the deliveries we received here, only 1 didn’t arrive. They say Amazon using DHL is a safe bet, but other than that nothing is guaranteed. Ours that went missing was through Ali Express and not delivered via DHL. The nearest grocery store is Walmart and the Chedraui in Reforma has a good variety of American brands and goods. One issue to be mindful of in Oaxaca though, is there are protests of the bus and transport workers almost daily and it is very common to have only back roads and narrow lanes to get around with armed protesters blocking all the main roads with busses and trucks.

Report Check-In

We stayed 4 night here and payed 1200oesos,its 300 per night, if you stay one week the price is 1800pesos and one month it's 3400pesos.
To add of what all the others comments said, to go to Oaxaca you can take a colectivo taxi at 12pesos Pp or a colectivo bus at 8pesos Pp from the main road 10 min walking from the RV park. They take you to the baseball field and then you walk 15min to get in te center!
Very nice experience and very convenient!

One of our favorite campsites in Mexico, it has made exploring Oaxaca so much more enjoyable. The water pressure and temperatures in the extremely clean showers are always perfect, the bathrooms are spotless, the Wi-Fi is the strongest we’ve yet experienced in Mexico and the owner is incredibly nice and helpful, he will even help call you a cab to get into the city. There is a pool, playground, kitchen, and washing machine, plus a selection of books and games in the shaded common area.

There is a clean kitchen and a nice pool. The area is very clean and you feel safe and comfortable. Good place just to relax.

You can order packages to the place or ask the owner if they can order them for you. The owners are super nice and helpful!

The running joke is that nobody can stay just one night, we loved it, the other 14 overlanders we met loved it. We came for 1 night and stayed 5. Much like everyone else we met.
Very clean facilities, hot water and lots of space for all sizes of rigs. Close to the bus or taxi to take you to Oaxaca Centro. Highly recommend if your in the area!

This is by far the best RV trailer park I have stayed at in all of North America. It is paradise compared to other ioverlander spots in the Oaxaca area. They have caravan, big rig friendly capacity for 18 vehicles, covered swimming pool with lounge area, lots of seating in covered palapas. There is 30 amp service, water and dump at each site. Wifi is fast throughout the entire beautifully landscaped and manicured park.
Hot showers, 6 toilets each for women and men. Sites are
spacious (6 meters wide, length unlimited) level on grass.
pet friendly
a second palapa for exercise or lounging
entirely walled and gated for security
common kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee machine and grinder,
use of bicycles, hammock, TV with DVD, BBQ grills, pizza oven,
playground area for children

Additionally, they have a workman cleaning daily the washrooms, showers, swimming pool, and landscaping the beautifully appointed grounds and walkways.
Everything is kept so clean and beautiful; it feels like a classy resort!
The brothers who run the facility are so accommodating, gracious, welcoming and are immediately like family.
Shopping, laundry, propane, gas and so many restaurants and bars are all nearby.

Of course, this perfect location affords easy access to all the nearby attractions: Tlacolula sunday market, El Tule, Mitla, Hierve el Agua, Monte Alban, Arrozola, Teotitlan, Cuilapam and all local Mezcal distilleries.

El Rancho is the best park I have stayed at anywhere, Covered swimming pool, fast wifi throughout grounds, common seating areas with well equipped kitchen, grills, even pizza oven. Hot showers and lots of clean toilets. 30 amp grounded service, at each of 18 spacious sites. Big rig, caravan, even pet friendly. Beautifully landscaped and taken care of daily by workmen. Groomed playing fields, children's play area and bikes for your use. Located in Thule, close to Oaxaca city and all of the surrounding attractions. These most friendly and helpful owners are daily improving this park which is already a paradise!

This place is perfect. We stayed here nearly 3 weeks. From day 1, to our last moments, we were welcomed like family. The grounds are beautiful, the facilities are excellent, the bathrooms super clean and Wi-Fi plenty fast. Our dog had a great time running in the open field and we enjoyed everything this place has to offer: the pool, kitchen, wifi and the safe and secure feel of the place. Paco and Pepe and their whole family are delightful, helpful and welcoming. Facilities director Calí, is as cool and hard working as it gets. Stop and get him a Pepsi before you arrive. The location is convenient as well, a quick walk into Tule, and it's an easy colectivo/taxi ride into Oaxaca. Don't even think twice, stay here on your next visit to Oaxaca.

Really really lovely spot in El Tule. Easy access to Oaxaca via collectivo (or taxi after 7pm when the colectivos stop). Pepe is so kind and the showers and bathrooms are SO clean. The town of El Tule is very sweet as well. WiFi works in the kitchen and spots close to there. Highly recommend

Wow!!!!...The best place of our entire trip since 16 month! New installed RV and Trailerpark. Stations for water, electricity and grey/black water dumping at each site. Huge lawn area, Swimming Pool, Palapa with tables and a good Wifi..and last but not least: they do not send you away with your dog. During our stay there was a lady with 5 dogs and a couple with a puppy and we with our boy...as long everybody removes the poopoo and looks after his pet and behaves a little disciplined all our friends on 4 paws are warmly wellcomed...and they will love this big grassy field and have space to move around. Family Cordero is running this place and still working and improving. You can also explore Oaxaca by taking the collectivo or taxi from here and leave your vehicle on this safe place. And last but mot least: in case you need something to get fixed on your car a good mechanic is just around the corner (Mecanico Automotriz) We loved it!

The owners are very kind and helpful and speak both English and Spanish. Great location for day trips into the city or the other small villages and attractions in the area. Just love this campground!! In our travels from San Diego to the Yucatan, it has to be up there with the best..... A repurposed event centre, it has a fabulous pool/palapa area with comfy lounges. There are heaps of flushing toilets (with TP and seats), a rainwater shower and a HUGE walled area for RV's of all sizes to park with connections to water, power and dump. The facilities are brilliant but even better is the kindness of the managers and workers. Cost us 250 pesos a night to stay. Totally tranquil at night-no dogs or roosters;) Walking distance to the little town of El Tule with the bus to Oaxaca around the block. Can't speak highly enough of this trailer park!!

The owners are super nice and helped with everything (I mean EVERYTHING) we need. We stayed for 10 days. If you are looking for a place to stay during your visit to Oaxaca city, this is the one. Clean toilets, hot showers, beautiful pool and garden, incredible palapa with a grill and oven, huge grass garden, wonderful landscape and much more. Paradise!

We were in El Rancho after somebody broke into our car in Oaxaca (they broke our truck window and stole our tools). Paco, Pepe and their families welcomed us in their RV Park.
El Rancho is new and well prepared with a lot of spots for big rigs with hock ups, dump station and water. The owners are gentle, always ready to help you.
We were there while repairing our truckcamper. They let us use their tools and helped us every time we needed.
The place is surrounded by mountains, it’s very quiet during nights and days. It’s located 10 blocks away from El Tule Tree, restaurant area, the market and laundry. The bus stop to Oaxaca is close too.
It’s the best RV Park we’ve been in Mexico so far.
