They will ask about fore extinguisher and safety cones/triangles. I had mine and my paperwork was in order, so they let me go. My buddy drove through here a few days prior and had to pay a 150000 peso “fine” for not having an extinguisher.

we passed the place today without any sign of the checkpoint. But we have to correct the former statements: there is nothing corrupt about this kind of checkpoint. everyone has to carry a fire extinguisher in Colombia in his or her vehicle. if you don't you get a fine.
