There's no damage anymore, the beach looks good. We wanted to tent here but got send away because Huatulco forbids camping on the beach. In a Van you might be able to stay on a roadside parking spot next to the beach. Looks nice, safe and quiet.
Report Check-InNot currently a good place for anything. Check out the photos:( I asked a local, and I guess the Malecon got washed away and there repairing it. He also said during the summer the tides are higher and there is not much room, and your not able to get to the river where people tend to camp. We were hopeful for the free wild camping and surf. No such luck now. Maybe in the busy winter and spring the construction will be done, and it will be open again.
