The gravel parking lot is now blocked off by large cement blocks. You can no longer access it.
Report Check-InTruck stop. Noisy as a truck stop gets. Nothing much to say. Toilets and stuff.
Report Check-Init was a good option, parked in the far north west corner close to tracks, yes trains go by but no horns, probably less noisy than some trucks. Definitely would stay again. very safe.
Report Check-InNice place. Good restaurant. No longer Denny’s. Breakfast till 4 pm. Propane fill up, but closes at 6 pm. 😕. Can camp overnight near the caboose.
Report Check-InI checked this place out after checking out the other Petro-Pass; Costco; Aberdeen Mall & the old visitor centre. I spent the night here. Without a doubt, the best ONP that Kamloops has to offer. This place has a huge gravel parking lot at the back. Close to the railway tracks but that was not an issue, train noise didn’t keep me awake. I would definitely stay here again if passing through.
Report Check-InAs described by the original poster. I parked in the far corner, away from the lights, highway noise, and truck traffic. But close to the train tracks - close enough to feel the ground shake as the trains passed by. And I "did" hear the trains at night - not a problem for me. Good wifi at both the c-store and restaurant.
I would stay here again if passing through.
CBC at 94.1.
Report Check-InHuge parking lot past Denny's and Petro with many trucks and some RVs. There are lights throughout parking lot but also spots that are dark. I parked at rear closer to train tracks than highway. There were 7 trains that passed before I went to sleep, but never woke up to any passing (maybe I was tired). They never blew their whistles when passing so it's just the rumbling. Overall, great night.
