Report Check-In

We were stopped and asked about the driver licence, the vehicle registration and the proof of insurance. Showed copies and the police officer tried to explain to us, that our registration is not valid because there is a date from 2022 on it.
With my limited spain I said this is the date we bought the car and got the registration. He thought about it for a while and gave us our copies back.
So maybe just be careful.

Report Check-In

While one officer was checking my papers, another came and murmured that I wasn’t wearing a shirt, and that I could be fined for that. Since I speak Spanish, I replied I could wear it, and they realized I understood. A couple of minutes of “weather talk”, and I was asked directly about my home country’s currency, and if I carried any. I said I had only card with me at the moment, and he insisted for some small cash for a drink. I kept saying card only and was on my way a second later.
It’s a lottery. Good luck…

Drove through this spot again with our dog. This time we kept our dog on the leash and hooked the end to something on the ceiling. We were pulled over and the state cop immediately mentioned that the dog should be in a cage. We told him that she is so old that the vet said a cage was too dangerous because it makes her too sick, so he told us to do this. He checked with his boss who seemed to give it the OK. Quick check of our papers and we were waved on.

Report Check-In

We got pulled over and told that it was an infraction that our dog wasn’t in a cage when driving. Back and forth went on for a while. I think that our trusty $20, prominently displayed, but maybe not even recording, dashcam saved us. Eventually I just said “shall we go to the police station to sort it out?” He said that that wasn’t needed. 10 minutes more, where he checked out what we had in the fridge, and looked at some holiday pictures, and he let us go with the advice to drink lots of water. All and all an experience.
