Took the ferry from Quellon to Chaiten…hint: do NOT eat on the ferry. The empanadas and cakes are crap and the coffee sucks. Bring your own food!

Naviera Austral ferry terminal. We arrived here after a 30 hour ferry from Puerto Chacabuco.

Now in highseason you need to do a reservation for the ferrybypass from Chaitén to Puerto Raúl Marin Balmaceda, because it’s totally sold out for cars. At least three days in advance, better a week before. Otherwise you get stucked in Chaitén for days. It’s not possible to book online, but you can book in every Ferry-Office. The Ferry runs twice a day: 7am and 11pm.

Some meters away from the marked point. Waiting system with numbers like at a butcher. Got the same day trip, booked at 16.00 for the 18.00 ferry to Chaitén. 17800 per meter and 13000 per Person. Expensive....

Office is open at 8 am. We booked three days before the departure. Because of the flood in Santa Lucia We didn't want to take the boat for Chaiten (difficult to find informations about the road conditions after the tragedy) . We asked for the less Expensive way to reach the mainland. From Quellon to Raul Marin VIA Melinka . 8 hours. Departures are thursday (at 10 am ) and Sunday. (I don't know about the schedule of this Day, We booked thursday).

7000 per person.
TOTAL 75000 chp.

We booked today not only the crossing to Chaiten but also the by-pass ferry from Chaiten to Paul Marin Bamaced. This ferry bypasses the blocked Carratera Austral and is free of charge. The Chillon-Chaiten ferry cost in hi saison 71 kCOP/vehicle and 13.5 kCOP/P. Attached pricing and schedule as pics

from Quellon, you can also take the ferry to Puerto Cisnes. 20h trip. 82500cl for a furgon, 11200cl per person. leaves at 23:00 every Wednesday.
We booked and paid the ticket online www.navieraustral.cl. We didn't receive any mail or sms with booking confirmation but we could print the ticket in the office in Quellon.

We bought our ticket the same day, at the office in Castro the lady told me that you can get it here every week day til 18:00 we paid 94400 clp for two person and the van. The ferry leaned at 3:00 am and you have to get there 3hrs bf.

67000 for a minivan, 12500 per person. Ferry from here to chaiten leaves Saturday at 6pm and Thursday I believe. You can pay with visa at the office

we bought the Tickets 4 days befor in Puerto montt on Angelmo 2187 at the naviera Office. 5,6 meters motorhome and 2 persons are ~ 130 US - DOLLAR.

Ferry office location, ferry dock is across the street. We sailed in winter and there are limited times (might be different in austral summer). Thursday 0100 and Sunday at 1800 to go to Chaiten (Parque Pumalin).
