Really nice place to stay. Victor is easy going, offers vegetables and eggs for sale, as well as homemade pasta sause, marmelade and mango chutney. Nice and quiet place, easy 10 minutes walk to the village.

Stayed one night in matrimonial room ( including bunks) for $30 ( 2 adults) with shared bathroom. Good, hot shower. Adequate kitchen. Very pleasant lady owner who speaks English. Great location. We didn’t venture into town. No issue with dogs - now there is a very cute puppy as well. Bought home grown veg for very good price.

The right place to be, in your rig, car, or if you are a backpacker.

Im sorry but I call B.S. on the comments about the dogs!! Even my 8 yr old daughter can agree with me! This place is AMAZING. Super friendly and knowledgeable owner (Victor) can help you in any way he can. Ohhh and the fire pit!! What a cool place to cook your food if you're into grilling. Showers super hot, very clean and organized, wifi can be a little bit slow sometimes but overall still better then other places we've stayed in. $5 p/p wood for the fire pit, FREE just ask.

Cool and relaxing place. Walking distance to town and train station. $5 pppn, hot shower, killer fire pit, kitchen, wifi and paved spots.

We spent some days here to relaxe and visit Alausi. A really nice place. The owner is a friendly old lady and she speaks english very well. The two dogs are also friendly and harmless to us. We could not understand the negativ comments here. We had a very good kitchen and hot shower, good internet connection and electricity at site. There is place for about 3 rigs, also bigger ones. Quiet at night. 15 Minutes to walk in the centre or to train station. Highly recommended.

Victor wasn't here when we were but a Woman was. She was most unhospitable, reacted very awkwardly when we used the guest kitchen, didn't want to turn on hot water for us and her dogs attacked ours! She saw that and stood there laughing!!!

We stayed in the room with 2 comfortable double beds. It was quite spacious, modern and nice. Floors could have been scrubbed better but hey, I’m picking nits. Shower was hot. $20/person and $5 for our young child. On the pricey side for sure.

Dog update: the pit bull followed some tourists into town and never came back. So there is just a female Ridgeback mix rescue now. She’s a little odd (perhaps just out of sorts about losing her friend) and protective at first, but she’s definitely not a problem. Also dogs are not permitted to pee in the courtyard area - only outside the gates which close at 9:30 or 10:00pm so plan accordingly. Our dog hopped out of the car and immediately went to pee on Beatriz’s nearest flower bush and we quickly learned how strongly she feels about that!

Nice fire pit and a good stock of wood to burn in it. Great stars on a clear night. 15 minute walk uphill to center of town in which you can find a light sprinkling of restaurants and of course the train station.

Overall a really nice place owned by a guy, Victor, who is super overlander friendly and that’s refreshing.

It was carnival weekend and there were around 6 other guests camping. Victor was a good host and opened an additional bathroom normally used for the hostel rooms which was great. We paid $10 inc wifi and electric. It's a lovely spot, far enough out of town to be peaceful but close enough to walk in.

Report Check-In

Je confirme: très bon endroit pour faire étape.
Demandez bien à voir Victor! Les conditions sont meilleures...

Detailed directions for the last 600 metres (To help ensure larger vehicles don't take a wrong turn and get stuck)
When HEADING DOWNHILL from town on the ashphalt road...
* TURN LEFT (180° turn) IMMEDIATELY after the railway crossing (the old bull ring will be below, on your right. Bull fight pictures on the railings)
* Continue 100 metres downhill
* TAKE THE LEFT FORK (It looks as though you are driving onto a large patio area! Red wastebin behind the lampost should be on your right side as you drive across this area)
*Continue 100 metres downhill, TAKE THE LEFT FORK, ignore the crazy steep road to the right!
*Continue 200 metres downhill on the unmade road, then turn SHARP RIGHT (180°) onto the cobblestone track
*Continue 200 metres downhill on the cobblestone access track (overhanging trees)
*Arrive at Killa Wasi Hostel (electric gate access)

This place is set up well for overlanders... BUT... (warning, rant about to start) - we arrived late in the day, and we're shown a place to plug into electricity, pointed to the kitchen and bathroom and given the WiFi password [passwords are not allowed unless explicitly permitted by the owner]). All good. But the next day, at 12.15pm the mother of the owner comes over and asks if we plan to stay another night. Unfortunately we can't. So she then tells us, the kitchen is only for dorm guests, the electricity is expensive and we shouldn't use it (we were charging a laptop!) and that check out is 12pm so we have to leave. She was so rude! She unplugged our electricity and walked off. Wow. Way to welcome guests. I honestly don't care if a place charges extra for facilities, electricity or whatever - I'm not out to ruin their business. But put up a sign or something! Needless to say we won't be staying here again.

Couldn't sleep : hundreds of dogs barking during all the night in the surrounding area.
Otherwise, a good place to camp.

we agree the dog is a very friendly petdog, no dangerous at all!

Report Check-In

HOBOtrail has a total misconception of Pitbull's. They are not fighting dogs at all. Like every other dog it's the training and the love you give them that gives the dogs character! But he should have known that being a dog owner him self... That being said Roc (the dog) is a total sweet heart very well trained and is social with other dogs.
