Lovely spot on Lake Tanganyika run by Craig and Elise who can give you lot of info as well about the area. You can do diving and boat trips on the lake and into the Nsumbu NP. Hot showers, clean toilets and BBQ stand. Camping $15 pppn. You can upgrade to lodge rooms which will start for $125 a night including 3 meals.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Very nice spot. Staff all friendly. No food at the lodge/ bar available unless you book in advance. Reason that all food and drinks need to be order which takes 3 days to arrive.
Ablutions are clean and maintained. Fresh drinking water available. Drinks are available at the bar.
Overall a good experience

The road gets better and better. The first 20 km is bumpy but there is hope so just continue! You will find an amazing place at the shores of Lake tanganyika. Modern, well maintained, clean, good vibe, friendly staff and managers, etc
Report Check-InLovely place to stay and unwind for a few days. Camping is on a sandy beach. Shared nsaka with chairs tables and PowerPoint. Good ablutions. Beautiful old acacia trees in the camp. Very friendly staff.
Report Check-InThree campsites directly on the beach with picnic tables and barbecue. 4x4 required.
One communal shelter with power point at the back with 2 kitchen sinks. If you need power directly at the site bring 50 m extension.
One site has a (lake) water tap.
Excellent food at the restaurant.
Advance booking is recommended to avoid disappointment if fully booked.
We got no reply via email but WhatsApp worked perfectly. Contact details on website.

We stayed 6 nights and had a good time.
We agree that everything is expensive and that the sales pitch you get from the manager when you arrive is not very welcoming, especially after the very rocky 7km to the lodge. However, if you bring everything you need you can enjoy the lake, the beach, the hippos and the mozzies-free bathroom with good hot showers and spotlessly clean toilets for 15USD pp plus VAT, which they did charge us. The location is worth coming if you haven't spent time at the lake already.
Report Check-InYes, nice place at the lake.
But, ALL prices w/o VAT, i.e. you have to add 16% to all items!
Also camping, USD 15, PLUS VAT!
To be fair, they didn’t charge the VAT.
Bring your own food!
Food in the restaurant is nice, but (as in all lodges) ridiculously overpriced.
Breakfast: 15 USD
Light lunch: 15 USD
Dinner: 20 USD,
all PLUS VAT.
All boat activities are expensive. Where they state a price per person, you still have to pay for minimum two persons!
Note, that guest of the lodge mainly come for fishing!
WiFi only for guests of the lodge, not for campers!
In general I had the feeling, that campers are kind of second class citizens.
Road from Kasama to Mporokoso new asphalt, road from Mporokoso to the lodge very good gravel road. Only the last 7 km from the main road to the lodge are terrible!
Report Check-InVery nice campsite on a part of the sandy beach! They improved the gravelroad but there is a still a bad strech for 20km (around 60km till 40 km from the lodge). The other 140km is in a very good condition.
Camping is still $15pppn and there is a powerpoint available at the shelter at the campsite. The campsite is directly on the beach with a beautiful view on the lake.
There is no drinking water at the campsite available but they can refill bottles at the lodge for 5kw per litre.
Toilet and shower are clean but there is no sink to do the dishes.
In front of the campsite is also a diesel waterpump what could be running.
We also could recommend the dinner at the lodge, great food! ($20 pp for a 3 course dinner).
This place is a real paradise with lovely owners, but also far away from everything, on bad roads. The camping is right on Lake Tanganyika, has nice banda's on the beach, snorkeling right of the beach, a swimming pool, play ground. If you come for Nsumbu National Park, they told us the roads are very bad and a long drive to get to the wildlife (no camping facilities in the park). You can go by boat from the lodge, but that is expensive (now 120usd pp).
