Something not right?

Description

A wide pull off not far from NM80 on County Rd C078. We fit 4 trucks in the spot, and probably could have stuff in a few more. Verizon 2bars.

Don't get confused. The first gate. Only one spot, maybe two for small rig. No more than 20f. All the other spots are for high clearance. And not many. The place very quiet, not far from quite road 80.
We got with T-Mobile good reception.

Easy to find, open the gate and drive through. All gps apps say this is BLM. Amazing mountains, desert beauty. A great place to hike or mountain bike but, be careful, a lot of tire puncture rocks and plants. There are a few old mines to look into and a local cow was curious as we looked into a desert water trough source with gold fish!I think the mines were turquoise mines since there seem to be a lot of turquoise rocks around. I do not think is sacred land so it is probably fine to rockhound a few.

No one else here. Quiet and peaceful.

The first campsite (pull out on the left with a fire ring) can easily fit four vehicles/vans/truck campers. This campsite is accessible with 2 WD. If you have a high clearance vehicle with four-wheel-drive, you can go on up further across a couple of washes and reach three or four more campsites (following various roads as they fork). The farther-in campsites are smaller. There is one near a stock tank that could fit two vans, but the others would likely only fit one van.
Because of the nearby hills, the campsites were in the shade by 6PM (March). Very scenic and quiet.

how the heck does someone find spots like this. has to be a friend of a friend. large open view, looks to be a vineyard or some fruit bearing type of tree farm across the huge Valley. the jagged mountains to the Southwest look very enchanting.

Turn West on County Road 78 from NM80. It looks more like a turnout than a road. The East side is marked as Mcarty Road but West side is not marked. There is a gate that is closed but not locked. Beyond the gate is a gravel road. Continue straight (middle road) about 1/4 mile to another turnout area on the left side. We made this trip in our Ford Transit van with no issues. No other cars parked here on the night we stayed here. Very secluded and peaceful. We heard occasional bovine moos. Nice views of some hills and night sky. I recommend this spot! We enjoyed it!

Beautiful spot if you can find it. Was a little tricky for me, as the road splits multiple times and I wasn’t sure which way to go. Stay left each time and after about 1/4 mile you’ll come to a beautiful little spot tucked into the rocks and shaded by a juniper tree. It appears out of nowhere, so if you’re doubtful, keep going. I thought I must have passed it until I found this little gem.

Had no problem getting my Ford Transit long bed up to the spot. Nice spot an quiet.

So far so good! We found the gate, no problem. There is a little bit of old people ruins in the wash. Beautiful vista in the sunset.. great stars. Quite. We have slide in camper truck and toe a car trailer.

The gate is still there, but no signs on it. Beautiful secluded spot! We stayed one night and we were the only ones here. Definitely recommend! Good Verizon reception.

There is a gate at the turn off. It’s chained, but not locked. Close it behind you as there is cattle. The dirt road was easy in my long wheel base sprinter. At least until the camping spot. After that you need 4x4. There was a blue water barrel and a fire ring. If you hike or bike further up the road, it’s splits off a few time, but at the tip you can see Arizona. If you go left you can see snow topped mountains.
